Elk Creek, which is rated as one of the cleanest in all of North Carolina; runs right in front of this cabin. The sounds of the rushing stream can be heard throughout the property and the decks on River Rock overlook the stream and a gorgeous grassy meadow where deer and other wildlife frequently roam.
This mountain retreat offers privacy seclusion with easy access, but yet is convenient to area attractions as it is only 10 minutes off the Blue Ridge Parkway, 10 minutes to horseback riding at Leatherwood stables, 20 minutes to downtown Boone (great for ASU football weekends), 30 minutes to Blowing Rock (excellent dining and shopping) and 30-45 minutes to 4 different ski areas.
River Rock offers rustic comfort with a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and microwave, WIFI, satellite TV, washer & dryer, propane gas and electric heaters, and all the bed linens and towels to make your stay comfortable. There is also a gorgeous stone (river rock) fireplace in the living room that creates a very warm and cozy atmosphere. The cabin has its very own fire ring (great for family marshmallow roasts-please do not use inside fireplace:), as well as access to hiking trails which lead to a beautiful 20 ft waterfall. There is also a picnic table on the property where you can sit and relax to the sounds of the stream, or have lunch in the middle of the mountains!
