It is just a few minutes to one of the most famous black sand beaches in the world and the most active volcano on the planet. We are an hour drive to historic Hilo and 2 hrs from Kona for nightlife. Yes, this is old Hawaii at its best. We are in the quaint village of Pahala with a public pool, tennis, historic homes and all you need: ATM, Banking, Post Office, Video Store, Groceries, a local restaurant, numerous churches and Buddhist temples.

EXPLORE THE REAL HAWAII: Hale O Luna is in the heart of the largest wilderness area in the state. It is a great place to stay to experience what Hawaii is all about. Great Hiking to remote beaches, coves and temple sites. The national park is just minutes away with unlimited things to do and see. You may be the only tourist in town, but the local folk are warm and welcoming and are more than happy to talk story.
