Fabulous way to celebrate my 40th!

we had an absolutely amazing time at villa flamingo!! 8 of my girlfriends all met up there to celebrate my 40th birthday and it exceeded all of our expectations! the chef team, catalino and sarah, were wonderful and we used their services pretty much everyday for amazing, delicious meals. 100 bucks a day plus groceries, is a steal. the food was divine!! sarah, the cleaning lady, was so helpful and wonderful as well. the dvd player wasn't working but danny, the house manager, quickly came over and got someone in to fix it. danny, the house manager, was also very friendly and helpful at all times.
all the friendly locals added to the wonderful dominican flavor and charm all around us. while we were doing yoga outside on the deck, a herd of cows walked by - truly a treat! we never felt unsafe for a moment, except that is when we stupidly forgot to be mindful while in the ocean. i had been doing laps close to shore with a friend for a while and was quite safe but then we got careless and weren't paying attention. frank, you were right to warn us and we almost got swept out to sea. luckily it all worked out okay and we are here to talk about it and plan our next trip back!

I just arrived today and am staying in Villa Flamingo. The weather is 75, sunny with a
nice breeze.
I am glad to hear that you recovered
well from the ocean incident. That happened to me also. Now, I stick to the pool or go to Sosua, Cabarete, Playa Grande, Playa Calleton or Playa Diamonte. The water is much calmer there.
I'll check on the cd player and it's condition.
Did you see the iPod players? There are two of them. We did have the 2 airbeds in the laundry area ready to set up.
So, let me know when you are all ready to return to Cabarete or maybe try Villa Leone in Sint Maarten.
