DRAMATIC OCEAN VIEWS: SEASIDE ESCAPE

We have just returned from a one week stay at Seaside Escape, in Bodega Bay, CA. This is probably a 4.5 star and maybe some would consider it a 5-star rated property. As you can see from the photos, the home is unique and takes advantage of the amazing views. As noted previously, light bulbs were an issue and not easily resolved, since the house has a variety of lighting options and just as many bulb variations. A hardware store stop in Sebastopol allowed us to partially resolve the burned-out light bulb issues, though some replacement bulbs were not readily available. The quality of the linens and towels were acceptable, but I would suggest bring your own pillows if you are picky about such things (I am). The weather was perfect for our entire stay, so to better enjoy those amazing views, we (sort of) washed the windows in the living room. We had noticed the sponge/squeegee in the garage. While the squeegee was past it's prime, the sponge portion worked beautifully. The windows seemed to be treated with a long-lasting cleaning agent, because a rinse of the hose, a swipe of the sponge, followed by a final rinse, resulted in a week-long, clean window view. Since the views are a significant feature of this property, I would suggest a regular window washing service, if one is not already being used. I know living near the ocean with the sea spray & fog clean windows may be nearly impossible.

We have rented a number of vacation rentals over the years, and this, by far, is one of the very best. While there were a very few minor issues, they were just that, minor. For the most part, this home is clean, comfortable, wonderfully designed and absolutely a pleasure to relax in. Did I mention the AMAZING VIEWS? We will return often.

My family has stayed here more than once - most recently to celebrate my father-in-law's 60th birthday. There is no place this cool in Bodega Bay! Not only are the unobstructed, huge ocean views breathtaking but the way Seaside Escape is designed and its amenities make it a really fun and memerable place to spend quality time together! We love the short walk to the beach and Salmon Creek where our young children can splash around and play.
We highly recommend it and will going back to stay there ourselves!

This house is even more beautiful than it appears in the pictures. We had driven by this house for years and were excited to find out it rents as a vacation rental. We found it to be almost perfect - great views, quiet, private, and architecturally a stunning home. Our friends could not believe how beautiful the house was when we showed them our pictures.

The house has a nice master bedroom suite with a nice-sized bath (and separate toilet room as I recall). The 2nd bedroom is a little smaller and the bathroom is across the hall, so definitely for 2 couples it will take some negotiation on who gets the master, like in any house. However the 2nd room is very nice as well with a queen bed and a TV and a view of the ocean, and a sliding door that opens onto a deck (and hot tub) shared with the master.

The town is about 8-10 minutes away, and there were plenty of restaurants. If you want to stay right in town, there are options in Bodega Harbor, but when we rent there we have neighbors right on top of us. This house is definitely not for those looking for an exciting party time - it's great as a romantic retreat or to contemplate the ocean or the beach which is about a minute walk. It is totally quiet and there's absolutely nothing going on. Those looking for "action" should keep looking.

We didn't experience any maintenance issues - the property management people were friendly and responsive, though we didn't really need anything from them but the keys. There was one burned-out light bulb but I think the main living room has something like 15 lights so we didn't really mind - again, we were there to look at the ocean.

Overall, I'd recommend this house.
