Charming Craftsman vacation rental cottage in the historic Old Bend neighborhood between downtown and the Old Mill District. We are just two short blocks (4 minutes) from downtown shops and restaurants and a 12 minute walk from the Old Mill (1.2 kilometers / 3/4 mile). Historic Drake Park on the Deschutes river is only a 6 minute walk (660 meters / 720 yards) and has hiking and biking trails, kayaking and tubing. The Mt. Bachelor ski resort is 27 minutes away by car ( 34 kilometers / 21.3 miles). The new Bend Area Transit (BAT) bus system stop # 202 on NW Franklin Ave. is within a block of our home and a bike rental facility is 6 blocks away on the corner of NE 3rd St and NE Hawthorn. Recently renovated, our bungalow has an all new kitchen, new washer and dryer and two full baths with heated tiled floors. The original maple hardwood living room floors still squeak and have been beautifully refinished. Each bedroom has a queen size bed. Come be our guests and enjoy

Car: not necessary
Bend is has something for everyone and our downtown bungalow is in the middle of it all. For outdoors people we have hiking, biking, climbing, river rafting, kayaking, alpine and cross country skiing. If your fancy is fine restaurants, wine bars and up-scale shopping we’ve got that too. Our 3600' altitude gives us temperate days and cool nights year round and the Casade mountain range catches most of the rain protects us from wet Pacific storms. When is a good time to visit? It depends on your personal likes. We chose to buy a home in Bend because we like ALL the seasons. We ski in the winter, golf in the spring, kayak, hike and bike in the summer and eagerly await the colors of turning leaves and festivals of the fall.

'We loved your house in Bend. The weather was perfect and we got in 10 days of skiing at Bachelor. The lifts closed at 1 PM which gave us a little hiking/biking time in the afternoon. Hope to do it again in the near future! Thanks Again - Bill'
