Overview

Boone Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

Relax and enjoy the incredible 180 degree views available from nearly every room of this luxury mountain lodge perched at 4,750 feet in the heart of the high country. Watch hawks soar BELOW you, from the comfort of the glass-walled great room, the dramatic sun room, or from the large covered deck.

The main floor features cathedral ceilings with exposed imported cedar beams, maple hardwood floors, a gourmet kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances, a master suite with king-size bed, a spacious great room with stone fireplace and 2 leather sofas. The entertainment system in the great room features a 55-inch 'smart' HD television with access to Netflix and Pandora, surround sound system, and a BluRay DVD player. The main floor also has an additional bedroom with two double beds. There is a spacious screened in porch with wicker sofa and chair. During the colder months, the porch is enlcosed with plexi-glass so you can enjoy it thorughout the year.

The downstairs area includes a third bedroom with queen-sized bed, and a fourth bedroom/game room with sleeper sofa where kids of all ages can enjoy the provided X-box video games on a flat panel LCD tv, watch a movie, play darts, study at a work desk, or just hang out away from the crowd.

Bring your laptop and stay in touch with the office and friends via the Wi-Fi internet connection available throughout the home.

The property is easily accessible from well maintained paved roads which are frequently serviced during the winter ski season (4 wheel drive or snow chains may be required during periods of heavy snow and/or extreme cold). The home is located on 2 large lots and features professional landscaping and parking for 3 vehicles.

While the Seven Devils area is known for dramatic mountain vistas and great skiing (Hawks Nest Snow Tubing Resort is located within Seven Devils...Beech and Sugar Mountains are within sight), the immediate area has many year-round attractions for the entire family, including great restaurants in Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, and Boone, golf and tennis, championship college football, shopping in Blowing Rock, and the Tweetsie Railroad theme park. Great hiking, mountain biking and fishing are available throughout the region. Entrance to the Grandfather Mountain Trail System is two miles west of Seven Devils Rd. Access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is only a few miles away. The Appalachian Trail is about 25 miles away.

This is a non-smoking home.

About Melisa Taylor

The Taylors and the Hubers became great friends while living in Miami, Fl. After the Taylor's moved to the Charlotte area, we decided to look for a mountain property to share. The Huber's had summered in the Highlands/Cashiers area for years. After one wonderful October weekend in the NC High Country, both of our families decided the Boone/Blowing Rock/Banner Elk area would be the perfect place to buy because the house could be enjoyed in the summer and winter.

Melisa Taylor purchased this cabin in 2007

Why Melisa Taylor chose Boone

Our number one feature was a year round view for our mountain home. This is harder to find than you would think in the NC High Country. We looked at over 50 houses in the area. Once we walked into this property, we knew it would be the perfect retreat with the view of our dreams.

What makes this cabin unique

Besides all the great features of this home, we have the wonderful town of Seven Devils. They make this house easily accessible during the winter months. All the roads are paved and snow plowed during ski season. So, you can get to the house and enjoy the snowy winter months.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thanks so much for the quick return of the deposit! We so enjoyed our stay and the whole family could not get over the view - such a beautiful place you have found. The renovation was beautiful as well - the granite and tile work - I'm envious!

Our Mountaintop Experience

  • 5 of 5

Lovely place! The view was spectacular - foggy, sunsets, mountains all terrific! The place is beautiful and well supplied with everything you'd need for a comfy stay. The only downside is, you need to arrive in daylight in case it's socked in with fog - there are some hairpin turns and switchbacks getting up the mountain. It is also a good 15-20 minutes getting to the place from the main road, so you don't come and go easily - however- it's spectacular once you are there! The deck is amazing, the kitchen beautiful, beds comfy. Three bathrooms - plenty of closet space. The kids ranging from 10 to 27 had a blast! Grown-ups - (Older than 30) were relaxed and happy. Wish we stayed longer. Oh - and it was breathtakingly beautiful in early spring!

Owner's Response: I am so glad you enjoyed your stay at our mountain home. Fog can always make a drive a little tricky but it is okay to arrive in the dark. The roads are all paved with some street lights. Once you are familiar with the directions, the house is about ten minutes from the main highway. The views from the top of the mountain are worth it.

Indeed a million dollar view!!!

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful house & the views were breathtaking. We even had snow, which made it even more beautiful. The owners are very nice & responded back quickly for every question or need that I had. She even sent me a list of restaurants & hiking spots & directions to many places. We went hiking on Rough Ridge trail & at Linville Falls. Both are a must. We ate at The Gamekeeper & Joy Bistro. Both of them are also a must. The house was nicely equipped with everything we needed, & we loved watching the big screen smart tv in the den with the wonderful views from outside the 4 large widows. What a piece of heaven this is!!!

Awesome family vacation

  • 5 of 5

Property is truly outstanding. "Million dollar view" is a perfect description for a fabulous view. I must have a hundred pictures of the changes in clouds and colors, and I'm not a photographer by any means. My grandchildren enjoyed playing with their dolls in front of the fireplace and really enjoyed the little bit of snow that we got. Their parents enjoyed a day of sking on Sugar mountain which is nearby. Our only regret is that we didn't have more time to stay.

Spectacular View!

  • 5 of 5

This house was on point. The house was beautiful and big enough to accommodate my entire family. My husband, myself, two sons, a daughter, all of their spouses and 2 grandchildren. We went snow tubing. What fun! We spent one day in the home because of rain, but it was nice to relax by the fire and spend time with everyone. The rain turned into snow and we were surprised with a white Christmas. This was a treat since we are from Florida. The road to get to the house is winding and narrow but we made it. There are grocery stores and tourist attractions nearby. I would love to go back in the spring or fall to do some hiking. I highly recommend this rental.

Absolutely Amazing

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was amazing. Everything was wonderful! The house lived up to the expectations. Just make sure you have 4 wheel drive coming up the mountain to the house.

Owner's Response: I am so glad you had a wonderful stay at the house and enjoyed the amazing views. There was a significant early snow event in the NC High Country this Thanksgiving. The Town of Seven Devils runs snow plows during the snow season and puts out a gravel substance which helps with traction. During the snow season, we always recommend 4 wheel drive and/or snow chains.

This is a lovely home with all the amenities. It was a very cold weekend with snow and wind and the house stayed warm

and toasty. Could not have asked for better accommodations. There were 10 of us and we had plenty of room. Views

were magnificent. Hoping to return soon.
