The Quandary is located in Wildernest just outside of Silverthorne, Colorado, close to Breckenridge, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, Copper Mountain and Loveland Ski Areas. Vail and Beaver Creek are not too far away.

The Quandary is a duplex house built in 1996, so it has modern features such as vaulted ceilings, jet tub, large rooms, large master bedroom and bath. The Quandary is spacious (over 1700 square feet). We use it ourselves, so we keep it comfortable and very clean.

  • There is a very comfortable queen-sized pull-out sleeper in the living room. The Master Bedroom (on the main upper level off the kitchen) has a king-sized pillowtop sleigh bed, comfortable chair and ottoman, and large dresser. The Master Bath is a 5-piece bathroom with a jet tub and walk-in closet The other 2 bedrooms are on the first level. Each has it's own dresser and closet. These bedrooms share a full Jack and Jill bathroom.

Notes: The hot tub is located on the deck just off the living/kitchen area. The night stars are beautiful on clear nights. The hot tub is professionally maintained. The hot tub is a top of the line Arctic Klondiker Legend Extreme Spa with over 60 jets. There are 5 specific seats, including his and her loungers and a captains chair. Pet Friendly! -- Pets considered with prior approval and security deposit. No smoking allowed.

Great location..very nice house

We stayed at The Quandary in Feb 2010. Very happy with the accommodations - exactly as described; very clean and felt like a real home (rather than a rental). Hot tub was great after long days on the slopes. Could easily accommodate 5-6 people - we were one adult and two teenage kids. Nice touch to have the garage door opener - saved cleaning snow off the car and made for easy storage of skiis/boots. 5 mins of I 70 at Silverthorne/Dillon exit, so exactly what we wanted as we went to Vail, Copper and Keystone. All in, one of the best value homes we have ever rented.

The only negative...not related to the house, but rather Silverthorne/Dillon is that there are not too many restaurants (lots of fast food... but not much else).

Our experience at the Quandary was a pleasent one. We stayed there for a week for business and over the weekend to relax. The description of the unit was very accurate, the property was very clean and well maintained and the hot tub was a great feature - all this for a great price. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a weekend (or longer) mountain escape for skiing, biking, hiking or just relaxing.
Recommended for:  Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
