Overview

Youngsville House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

This Beautiful 3000 sq ft home lies in the middle of a very private 86 acres in the historic Catskills region of New York. The nearest residence is at least a 1/2 mile away. The house lies at the end of a long driveway that curves up the mountain to reveal the home only near its end which is centered on the property for total privacy.

The tranquility and peaceful silence here is astonishing. Much of the property is wooded with well laid out trails for hiking or even for cross country skiing. 100 year old fieldstone rock walls abound on this property which also boasts two 3 acre and four large 5 acre fields near the residence with gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains.

The private secluded pool is 40' by 20' and goes from 3' to 11' at its deepest end. It is immaculate and well maintained with loungers for sunbathing, umbrella etc... Right next to the house is a beautiful 1-1/2 acre pond to spend evenings next to relaxing, enjoying the sunset or just stargazing late into the evening. There is even a fieldstone bon-fire pit for relaxing over an open fire near the house!

The property has been maintained by the owner along with the help of the NYS forestry department to ensure a perfect setting for all natural wildlife indigenous to the area. Don't be surprised to see the VERY rare Bluebird and colorful Wood ducks making there homes in and around the numerous bird houses and the spring fed pond near the house. Deer and Turkeys are always around as well as Blue Heron and the occasional Bald Eagle. Red hawk families circle in the rising evening air every day throughout the summer and at night the owls sound off year round. The fertile pond is filled with frogs, turtles and several species of fish a young child or a child at heart adult) would love to see and explore!

The house has beautiful hardwood floors throughout and the large 16ft high ceiling sunroom/great room fills with sunlight on 3 sides with 6 floor to ceiling windows and skylights. This room, which also has the sleeper couch, has a 56 inch HD LCD screen for a great movie watching experience.

Outside the large French doors across from the main entrance you can walk out to a large wooden, raised deck for outdoor dining and barbecuing. The house is filled with antiques and boasts a full kitchen with high quality Wurstoff knives and Cuisinart pots and pans for the foodies.

The 2 bedrooms both have Queen size beds and charming decorations, armoirs, dressers, personal bedside lighting, and antique bedside tables. Tons of books are discreetly stacked and available throughout the house

The Den or 'WInter Room' we like to call it, is furnished with gorgeous leather furniture, a Vermont Casting Woodstove ( available only in autumn/winter), cow skin rugs and large windows affording a view of the pool and surrounding fields.

This home is close to some of the well known skiing centers in the Catskills and also very close to world class fly-fishing and all types of outdoor adventures. In the fall, the foliage is breathtaking.

This home has it's own 500ft deep well which supplies all of the water and is 100% pure, filtered and drinkable spring water right from the mountain.

Awesome Spot

  • 5 of 5

My wife, four kids, and I spent a week at this place in early August, and we had a fabulous time. The house comfortably fit all six of us, and the property had so much for us to do that we didn't even pull out of the driveway on several of the days of our vacation! The acres of hiking trails, the large pond with floating dock and canoe, the firepit, and the pool kept our gang happily occupied the entirety of our stay. Michael was an excellent host, meeting us upon our arrival, giving us a detailed lay of the land, and then leaving us to get settled. The home's close proximity to the small town of Callicoon (20 minute drive) made for some fun family excursions, especially on Sunday when we spent a few hours in town for the Farmer's Market. We had such a blast that the kids are already talking about when we will get a chance to make a return trip!

Beautiful Place!

  • 5 of 5

My Fiance and I and our 2 chihuahua's stayed here in summer of June 2014. The house was beautiful and so peaceful. The best part of the whole house was the amazing huge pool we had all to our self. The wildlife and pond was amazing! I will definitely be staying here again and thanks to the owner for working with us on the last minute of booking our trip.

Terrific Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I, as well as our Irish Setter, spent a wonderful week on this property in summer 2014. It was exactly the kind of place for which we were looking. Simple and easy with loads of peace and quiet for us and plenty of land for the dog who was able to run to her heart’s content. My wife enjoyed wonderful birding, I had plenty of opportunities to fish in the area, our dog flushed all kinds of animals while running in the fields and there was a nice pool for swimming. We can't wait to vacation here again.

Peace, pricacy, beauty, balance and happiness!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at this marvelous home and property many times through the last few years. The country home, gorgeous property, and complete privacy just keep calling us back! I've have reviewed this property in the past and still give it 5 stars. The property is spectacular, the wildlife abounds with turkey, deer, rabbit, turtle, bullfrogs, and the beautiful singing bluebirds happily flying across the pond. The pool is cool and inviting, and the pond peaceful (especially with morning coffee). At night the air is so clean the stars literally reach the horizon....thousands and thousands of them! Its truly unreal. I just can't explain how this place makes us feel. We can't thank Michael enough for working so hard to make this home and property so beautiful, so well balanced, so peaceful, and so happy. Its just amazing and we hope to have the privilege of enjoying it and being awed by it for many years to come! We and the wildlife thank you!

Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent the weekend here sans kids. It was such a perfect place to be. The house is nice and we were able to cook in the kitchen and relax in the living room. But the property is truly amazing. Besides swimming in the pool, we took the row boat out on the small pond and sat on the platform in the pond for hours. It was so peaceful there. Yet only minutes from a great grocery store (Catskils Harvest Market) and the Callicoon Farmers' Market. We'd love to go back and maybe bring the kids next time.

Amazing Property! Even nicer than it looks in pictures!

  • 5 of 5

My family rents a home in the catskills for a week or two every summer. This was one of the best properties we have ever rented! The property is amazingly beautiful! The house is very secluded and ideal for a relaxing country vacation. We spent the whole week enjoying the property and rarely left. My husband and I enjoyed relaxing by the pond with a glass of wine and our reading. Our son enjoyed canoeing in the pond, playing in the yard, roasting marshamallows in the firepit, and swimming in the pool!

We were also thrilled by all of the wildlife sightings on the property. We saw pheasants, a turtle, a family of bunnies, and many deer.

The interior of the house was very nice too! It is well maintained, clean, and nicely furnished. There was also a very nice caretaker named Dave who was very helpful when we checked in and during our stay.

I highly recommend this property for a couple or small family. We hope to return next year.
