2 bedrooms and a loft, 2 full bathrms, sleeps 8 (max of 4 adults pls)

Over 1,350 sq. ft of pure luxury on the Wyndham grounds. Our penthouse villa was professionally decorated, and was featured in Perspectiva Interior Design Magazine. It is on/overlooks the Wyndham Resort 'River' golf course, and also has views of El Yunque (a natural rain forest). A resort-style pool (pictured) and playground available exclusively to Rio Mar Village guests within 150 meters of our property. Walking distance to tennis facilities, the ocean, and the Wyndham (golf) clubhouse/country club. Unit has large dining/living room area with cable TV, 2 full bathrooms, a spacious master bedroom with an upstairs loft area, a 2nd loft bedroom, and a pull out queen sized sleeper in the living room. Walk out patio has Weber gas grill and fabulous views. Unit is furnished with highchair, port-a-crib, boosters, bed rails, children's beach toys/towels, boogie boards, etc. Washer/dryer/dish washer in the unit. approx. 19 miles East of the main airport (SJU). No passport required.
About Kathleen Lesauski

We are from Chicago and first discovered Rio Mar when we stayed at a neighbor's villa. It was one of our best family vacations ever, and we fell in love with Puerto Rico. There was no question we wanted to buy property and share the experience we had with our friends and family.

Why Kathleen Lesauski chose Rio Mar

We bought our villa because we love being a part of a gated resort property and having access to all of the hotel restaurants and other amenities it has to offer (such as getting served a cold rum runner on the beach, golf, spa service, tennis, etc.). Our villa is relatively new and is in one of the nicest 'clusters' on the property. It was professionally decorated and is as nice if not nicer than a suite at a high end hotel.

What makes this villa unique

Everything is very convenient at Rio Mar and we are close to the rain forest, Catamaran excursions, bio bay and other 5 start resorts. Old San Juan is about a 45 minute drive.

Nearest Beach : beach at 1 Miles

Villa is located on the Wyndham 'River' golf course (also has scenic views of El Yunque). It is approx. 19 miles East of the Luis Munoz Marin Airport (SJU), and is across the highway from the El Yunque natural rainforest. Guests have access to resort amenities, such as golf, spa, tennis, daycare, 7 fabulous restaurants, snorkeling, casino, horseback riding, etc. Approx. 15 minute walk to ocean or 5 minute drive (parking available at hotel). There is an outlet mall approx. 15 mins away with shops such as Tommy Hillfiger, Ralph Lauren, Nike, and Guess. Grocery store and other shops nearby.

Other Activities: Hiking - Natural Rain forest across the street from property

Golf: Our villa is directly on the RIVER golf course first hole. There are two courses within the resort and the El Conquistador and the Trump Cocoa Beach courses are only 15 minutes from our villa. Many other courses in the area also.

Fun Family Vacation

Our family of four just returned from a wonderful visit at this villa. It was a perfect rental from start to finish. The owners were quick to respond to inquiries and everything was just as promised when we arrived. We have done many rent by owners - but this villa literally has everything you will need! Everything is top of the line from the granite & stainless kitchen to the roomy master suite. It is nicer than the pictures. The full size grill was a great extra bonus too! The guest handbook in the villa answers any questions you may have after you arrive.

We used both the villa and resort pools and my kids loved them both. The beach was terrific - perfect for boogie boarding and palapas for shade if you walked a little past the resort entrance to the beach. The one thing to note is that the resort charges ALOT for parking - so we parked by the rio mar beach club and walked up the beach. It was a few minutes out of the way, but saved lots of money. Our visit was off season - so I am not sure if you can do this all the time.

The location of the Villa is great - 20 mins to Fajardo, less than an hour from Old San Juan and across from the rainforest. You feel like you truly get away from it all - but are still close to a great deal of sightseeing and activities. There are alot of dining choices at the resort, but if you venture out towards Fajardo there are alot more and are pretty reasonable.

Overall, it was a great time and we hope to come back and visit again one day!

My week in Puerto Rico in November 2012 was beautiful from start to finish. The beautiful island was sunny and warm every day. I was there with 2 of my girlfriends and we were active every day.We enjoyed walking to the beach and pool every day and if we chose we could ride back on the courtesy bus they provided which made for a very pleasant day. We meet so many nice friendly people all around us.We traveled everywhere enjoyed touring Old San Juan and the Fort along with the history,rode the free trolley in town had great conversions with people we met along the way,both native and tourist.The many restaurants
and the gorgeous old hotels in old San Jaun were a sight to see. The villa was perfect for us as was the location. Every bit of information was there for us plus directions so it could not have been easier.
The villa was beautiful,clean and could accommodate three senior citizens or a family just as comfortably. Something for everyone. WE were very happy and hated to leave. It is one of the most beautiful islands I have been to. A must see and a great Villa to stay in.

Beautiful Villa, Great Location, Owner fantastic to work with

My husband and I, along with our two boys ages 7 and 12, stayed in the Villa this March 2011. I would highly recommend this Villa!

The highlights ... The owner is very organized and easy to work with - she returns emails promptly, offers all kind of tips and insights, and has thought of every detail. The Villa is beautiful, well-stocked with extras like boogie boards and kids games, and in a nice location. Little extras like the room darkening shades made our experience even better. The Wyndham Rio Mar resort is a very nice resort with many amenities on-site.

The only thing we missed having was a golf cart. My boys are at the age where they would have gotten a kick out it and we all would have liked to zip back and forth to the resort and beach in a cart rather than hiking or driving/parking. (Although please notice that with 4 people staying in the villa for a week we only found one thing we wanted that was not provided!)

All in all, we had an amazing vacation due in large part to the great Villa and resort. We have rented through VRBO or Homeaway several times we good results, but this was by far the best experience we had!

Great Place To Stay

We rented this beautiful condo for 5 nights in February for our family of 4. The condo is exactly as described in the listing and is definitely a great place to stay. We found it had plenty of room for us and had all the amenities that we needed. The ability to have full use of the facilities at the Wyndham Resort was great..great pool and beach there and the condo pool was very nice as well. We found that staying in this area made a great jumping off point to explore this area of Puerto Rico.

We had a 40 minute drive into Old San Juan one day which was very easy to get to and had a great time exploring the forts etc. Of course the El Yunque Forest is right across the highway from the resort and we spent a fantastic half a day exploring it and taking a great hike to La Mina Falls. Perhaps the best trip of all was the Bio-Bay tour to the island of Vieques through East Island. Words cannot describe the feeling of floating in a bay with a canopy of stars overhead and every movement bringing a glittering effect of micro-organisms glowing in the dark. If you plan on seeing a lot of sites like we did, I think the Rio Mar condo is a much better place to stay than in San Juan.

The owner was great to work with and she has a very useful package of information she emails in advance of your stay which helped in planning out our trip. Overall, I can't wait to get back!

Escaped the Chicago snow storm!

Feeling the brunt of winter upon us and the looming major snowstorm approaching, my husband and I made a quick escape to the Lesauski villa Jan.30-Feb.5 2011. AHHHH! We couldn't have picked a better time to visit. The weather was heavenly. Warm, tropical breezes were all we needed to recover from below zero temp. in Chicago. The villa has everything you could possibly need or want. The decor is elegant and everything is meticulously kept. Breakfast on the patio overlooking the golf course and the rainforest was the perfect beginning of the day. The villa pool is close and very private. The resort pool is a short walk and the place to go for music, activities, drinks, food and more all poolside. Walks along the beach just past the pool took our breath away. There is nothing overlooked at the villa or at the resort. The grounds are impeccable and all of the employees are smiling and friendly. I would imagine every month of the year is "perfect" here so I say pick a week and reserve!!
