PEI Sunsets and Sea Lights is a new oceanfront beach house less than 100 feet from the water’s edge. Custom designed and built to take advantage of the picturesque scenery. This is the place to enjoy your well earned vacation. The house has been awarded a 4 star rating by Canada Select.
The only thing you will need to decide is whether you would prefer to walk on the beach or to admire the sights from a hammock on the large second story deck. On the Northumberland Strait, warm water awaits you - perfect for sandcastle building. At low tide, the water near the shore is shallow; making it great for children to swim. Bring your own kayak, canoe or kit surfing equipment and launch from the beach at the front of the property.
Lights from the Confederation Bridge, the lighthouse, the channel marker lights and the lights from our neighbors in New Brunswick all compete for attention with the unbelievable romantic sunsets.....
This unique beach house has been professionally decorated in keeping with the style of a vacation by the sea. To captivate the views nature created, the living room and fully equipped kitchen, surrounded by large windows, are located on the second floor. While in the main room, you are surrounded by windows on all sides. The ocean, the lights from SeaCow Head Lighthouse and Confederation Bridge surround you.
A large deck with propane BBQ and outdoor dining area are just a step away. A bathroom with shower, as well as a queen size bedroom is also on this floor. The main floor contains; the laundry room, a full bathroom with separate shower and extra large tub, a queen size bedroom and another bedroom with 2 twin beds.
A two level deck is also available for you to enjoy on the ground level.
The location of the beach house is perfect no matter what you plan on doing. The beach, at the front of the property, is accessible by stairs. The beach is always different. At times, it looks tranquil like a lake, other times the crashing sounds of the waves are yours to enjoy. Changes of tides occur every 12 hours. At low tide, you can walk forever before you reach swimming depths.
If you are interested in visiting the popular sights of the Island or playing some golf, everything is within easy reach (Chelton Beach Provincial Park 5 minutes, Summerside 20 minutes, Cavendish 35 minutes & Charlottetown 50 minutes).
You may not be aware how popular Anne of Green Gables is across the world:
In Japan, Montgomery's book became part of the school curriculum in 1952. In 1939, missionary Miss Shaw, left Japan and gave to her friend Hanako Muraoka her prized copy of Anne of Green Gables. Secretly, the respected Japanese translator rendered Montgomery's text into Japanese, Akage No Anne (Anne of the Red Hair). When the Second World War ended and officials were looking for uplifting Western literature for the schools, Muraoka brought out her translation of Anne. Ever since, Anne has been a part of Japanese culture, with her exotic red hair and comic outspokenness. Yuko Izawa's recently published bibliography of editions gives some idea of the continuing popularity.

Guestbook comments from the manager
We were fortunate to book at Sunsets and Sea Lights. The house is superb and the beach almost deserted. The weather in PEI was amazing and it was great to be so close to many golf courses. A dream vacation. I surely recommend to visit PEI and stay at this beautifully decorated home.
My husband has fond memories of his childhood vacations to PEI. His family travelled by train and it was his opportunity to spend quality time with his Dad. They spent most days on the beautiful greens of Green Gables Golf Course. Over 50 years ago, the number of golf courses and vacation rentals were limited. The scenery was spectacular and the people so friendly.
It was no wonder my husband wanted to share this little treasure with me on our first vacation together. The moment I was aboard the ferry, I felt the magic. I immediately fell in love with Prince Edward Island's landscape. How surprising it was to have such beautiful unspoiled, almost bare beaches. I couldn't remember ever having such a warm welcome from everyone I met.
We continued the tradition of spending our summer vacations with the family. It was our boys' turn to learn more about Dad and Grandpa.
Now, our sons' continue the family tradition and we enjoy great vacations on The Island as a bigger family.
We chose to build here for many reasons:
We love the warm, safe waters of the Northumberland Strait.
The ever changing scenery the tide brings is magnificent.
The location is great no matter where you want to visit
My favorite thing is watching the sunset, the lights from the Confederation Bridge and of course Seacow Head Lighthouses' blinking light.
I designed the house so we could get the best views. We therefore have the main living space on the second floor. It is bright and no matter where you stand you have an amazing view.
