Located on Fourteenth Street between Church and Dolores adjacent to the vibrant Castro District with its many shops and restaurants, this classic San Francisco sun-filled two bedroom, one bath flat is the starting point for your discovery of the city by the bay. Construction is now complete on the new Whole Foods grocery store, located less than a block away. You’ll also be just steps away from the Church Street MUNI subway station and a twelve minute walk to the 16th Street BART station, placing the entire Bay Area within easy reach. Or leave your front door to ride on one of San Francisco's historic streetcars from a stop located just one block away. This architectural gem is the upper floor of a two unit 1940’s style building. It features two bedrooms, living room with fireplace, eat-in kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, gas stove, bath with tub and separate shower stall, WIFI, and shared washer/dryer in basement. The garden-facing bedroom has a private deck with views and to the shared garden. It features bay windows, original art deco design details, and hardwood floors throughout. Limited parking is available on the surrounding streets at free or metered spaces, however there is a two-hour time limit from 8am to 9pm. That being said, garage parking is available in the building at the rate of $25/night.
The apartment was just great – lovely, clean, open and bright! The porch was inviting and we braved the chill to sit out there
a couple times – never made it to the downstairs deck, but it looks relaxing.
The location is fabulous, so near to food shopping, restaurants and
transportation, without being too hectic.
Many interesting neighborhoods and tourist spots are within walking distance, especially if you like to walk! Except for one day
when we rented a car to go to the vineyards, we felt no need for our own wheels.
Wow, what a place. And how lucky were we to have found such a gem. We (my partner and I and our 18mnth old daughter) stayed at Steve's apartment from 20-26th Nov. Firstly I would like to say the apartment is spectacular!!
The apartment was perfectly located for us, being only 4 blocks away from Delores Park. A perfect playground for a little one. There were plenty of clean towels and fresh bedding, and a laundry downstairs. It was an ideal size for our family.
This place is in such a great location and the public transport is all within walking distance. We walked down to the transport department (maybe 8blocks? 15min walk) and purchased a Muni pass for a small fee that enabled us to jump on the street cars and buses when we needed to. So convenient.
There are also two large supermarkets within walking distance from the apartment. A whole foods and a safeway.
All communication with Steve was so easy, and he was a pleasure to deal with. He even gave us a great tip of where to eat, "Chow" was his suggestion and we ate there a few times. What a win!
I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone.
My fear is that next time we want to come to SF it may be booked out due to its popularity....

Lovely well appointed apartment. Very clean with everything you could possible want to make your stay perfect. The apartment is very easy to get to from the airport and is within 5 mins walk from transport links taking you across the city. There are 2 convenient supermarkets nearby and the area is safe. Steve was very easy to deal with, everything is clear and straightforward and he was very welcoming. A much better option in my opinion than staying in a hotel downtown. San Francisco is a great place for a holiday with cheap transport, restaurants galore and great places to visit. We were extremely sorry to leave. Thank you Steve - we had a fantastic holiday.
We stayed at Steve's apartment from 7-13th July. Firstly I would like to say the apartment is immaculate. Plenty of clean towels and fresh bedding. It was the perfect size for our party of four. All the facilities are great and we made use of the on site washer/dryer. There is on site wifi that enabled us in locating famous landmarks and general information on the San Francisco area. The apartment is in a great location and the public transport is all within walking distance. I would advise anyone visiting to purchase a go San Francisco card as this saves you money on the public transport plus you get to see some of the sites with the card for a good price.
The apartment is a 2 minute walk to a big Safeway and Whole Foods where you can pick up all you essentials.
Steve the apartment owner is absolutely brilliant it was a joy to meet such a nice guy, having never booked anything like this before he set my mind at ease from the point of booking up until we checked out. He did everything he could to make our stay enjoyable even replacing the broken fridge within 24hrs. :-)
I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone it's great value for money and all you could want for a comfortable place to stay in a fabulous city. Next time we go we will definitely be staying here!!
Beautiful Sun lit apartment in a fabulous safe area around the corner from the famous Dolores park which boasts an amazing view of the San Francisco skyline. Two very spacious bedrooms, the back bedroom has french doors that open onto a deck, perfect for a drink and watching the sun set. With an abundance of cafés in the neighborhood and a wholefoods supermarket around the corner, this apartment is a gem. Very spacious, clean and full of old San Francisco charm....A perfect vacation to remember.
We were so fortunate to find this gem in San Francisco. The four of us (two couples) travel frequently together and we have experienced the good and bad of vacation rentals but this sunny San Francisco apartment exceeded all expectations and for a great price to top it all off. The apartment is open, bright and impeccably clean. The two spacious bedrooms make it ideally suited for two couples. Public transportation is just down the street, including the subway and bus lines. The neighborhood is great as well. Whole Foods and Safeway are just around the corner and there are plenty of restaurants and cafes in the area as well. This is a wonderful central location. Steve is gracious and made sure we were very comfortable. I highly recommend this apartment.
