Fun in the Sun!:
The summers in Boston Harbor are nothing short of Glorious! The average temperature is typically in the mid 70's to low 80's. The water on Puget Sound is blue and clear. It is often calm and mirror-like. Sail boats, pleasure craft, and fishing boats come and go throughout the day. It is not uncommon to see harbor seals swimming, playing, or even catching and eating salmon. There is a tall evergreen nearby that is a favorite landing spot for a pair of bald eagles. At night you can build a campfire right on the beach, listen to the waves lap against the shore, and stare up at the unbelievable night sky with brilliantly bright stars. Butter and manila clams can be dug on the beach and there is an abundance of dungeoness and red rock crab!
Wet Winter Wonderland!:
The Winters here in the Northwest are definitely wet. What you hear about the rain here is true! It does rain a lot, but it also has it's own beauty. Washington is not called the 'Evergreen State' without reason, and never is it more evident than in the Winter and Spring of each year. The vegetation is lush, and almost tropical, we even have rain forests! We seldom see snow, and our average winter temperature is usually in the 40's during the Winter. If you live in a dry, hot climate, this is a wonderful place to be during the winter - your skin will thank you! While the water activities become fairly dormant during the winter, walks along the beach and to the marina are still beautiful, peaceful, and romantic. Boston Harbor Marina still thrives, and they offer hot beverages to warm you up for your walk back. Winter storms can be dazzling! Waves crash up on the beach and whitecaps are everywhere. Summer or Winter, this is the place to stay!
