Beautiful, little apartment in typical Barceloneta 1900 building 100m from the beach and sea and with a view of the beach/sea from the balcony. (Lateral view)

Air-conditioned, fully restored apartment with modern bathroom, kitchen, etc, redecorated and bathroom changed in 2009.

The balcony is large enough to sit out on and take breakfast in the sunshine, with a lateral view to the beach, just one block away.

This property offers the amazing combination of being in a city centre with all the facilities and attractions on hand -and also just a minute's walk (if that) from the sea and a long, sandy beach. You are surrounded by great seafood restaurants in an area that is safe and quiet at night. If you want late bars and discos they are just 15 minutes walk away.

Other sites: Picasso Museum and city park, El Born, zoo, marina 5 minute's walk.

Ramblas and Barri-Gotic: 15 minutes walk.

Located in Barceloneta one of the city centre's most charming and authentic 'barrios'. The area was built in the late 1800s as Barcelona's fishing port and was the first area to be built outside the medieval city walls.

Although the fishing port and boats are now hidden by piazzas, yachts and sand, the area still boasts many great (Barcelona's best) seafood restaurants and tapas bars - especially alongside the marina front.

Barceloneta is full of Spanish and Catalan charm and idiosyncrasies, washing drapes over the balconies and old ladies chat from their windows to their neighbours across the street.

Barceloneta is very much part of the old city centre 'Ciutat Vella' and is nestled between the beach and El Born, the most upmarket old city centre district which is a 10 minute walk away for many classy restaurants and bars.

Walking to the Ramblas is a 15 minute stroll across the harbour front - or take the cable car. The medieval city is also a 10- 15 minute walk.

  • BCN Beachside
    Low season rates are 65euros per night 1-2 people, 449 euros per week, 75 euros 3 people, 499 euros per week.
    Mid Season rates are for 3 people: 90 euros per night, 549 euros per week; 1-2 people: 80 euros per night, 499 euros per week.
    High Season rates are for 3 people: 110 euros per night, 699 euros per week 1-2 people: 99 euros per night, 630 euros per week.
  • Seasons:
    Low Season is January 1st to Easter and November to Christmas.
    Mid Season from after Easter to end of June and from September 1st to October 31st
    High Season is July and August, the Mobile World Congress in February, Formula 1 Grand Prix, other major sporting and conference events, certain bank holidays.

    On enquiry with dates and number of people we will reply with an exact quote and explanation of the rate applied.

    PAYMENT PROCEDURE:
    Payment is: 50% with the booking by credit card or bank transfer, the rest on arrival in cash.
    BOOKING CONDITIONS/EXCEPTIONS:
    Please note that we do not accept all male or all female adult groups (couples are fine!)
    Nor do we accept bookings from under 25s.
    No pets of any kind are allowed.
    By Spanish law you may not smoke in the apartment.
    INCLUDED IN THE PRICE:
    Prices include cleaning, laundry, provision of sheets and towels, tax (18% VAT where applicable) electricity, gas and water.
  • EXTRA FEES:
    There is an obligatory extra 20 euro charge for being met at the apartment after 10pm, this rises to 30 euros after 11pm and after midnight to 50 euros.

    ALSO:
    The apartment can sleep 2 further children on the sofa bed (1.5x1.4m) or one further adult. But really we feel that the apartment is small for so many people. Also we have removed the door to the bedroom for easier access so there is not so much privacy for 3 or 4 people.

Notes: A beach kit is provided with a beach mat, inflatable cushions, Frisbee and cricket set but please bring your own beach towels or we will provide them at an extra charge (10€). A cot can be provided. A DVD, stereo and small selection of films and CDs are provided. The apartment has air con, dehumidifier and heating. The bathroom has a hydro-massage shower - no bath, hair-dryer. Local and city/region guides, books, games are provided. Street parking is available or there are two secure car parks nearby. The apartment is on the second floor with no lift and the stairs are narrow. In addition to the sea there is a great sports club with two outdoor swimming pools on the beach front which charges 8€ entry including use of the gym, sun loungers, lockers and showers or 11€ with access to the jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. It also has direct access to the beach and in the winter the outdoor pools are heated

The apartment is professionally serviced and all towels and linen are of a good quality, laundered, ironed and regularly replaced.

Extra services: If you wish the following can be provided at an extra charge:

Spanish lessons and Spanish conversation - by arrangement 15€ per hour, minimum 6 hours over the holiday.

Daily servicing - 10€ extra just for cleaning, 20€ with laundry and towel change.

Home cooked meals - on request in advance

Payment: Normally in cash on arrival but can also be by bank transfer to a Spanish or UK bank and soon by credit card.

Longer bookings of one or two weeks in summer must be paid in advance.

I have so many glowing write-ups from previous guests but it seems disingenuous to include them here - take a look at the visitors book when you arrive or I have kept some e-mails which I can send on with the guests permission.
This is one of two apartments that I have on holiday-rentals and one of eleven in Barcelona. It is my full time job to look after the apartments and I employ two cleaners a handy man and a second in command for when I am away or can't meet you due to being at another apartment. Many guests return and all recommend their friends. Discounts are offered to repeat customers.

Close to the beach

My husband and I and our two small children (aged 5 and 11 months) enjoyed our stay in Barcelona. The flat was roomy enough and they even had a little pack and play set up for our baby in the bedroom. Our 5 year old slept on the sofa (which wasn't as clean as I would have liked and I'm not sure the sofa cover was washed and I know the pillows weren't), but he seemed okay with the sofa.
This flat is only a few blocks from the beach and close enough to walk to the Ramblas (which was did multiple times). The beach is gorgeous. There is a small grocery store nearby, which was convenient. (Restaurants in Barcelona were so much $$. Having a kitchen in the flat was great!) There is a metro stop nearby, which was easy to use. The neighborhood got a little noisy at night due to the game between FCB and Real Madrid, but our kids slept through it. We also LOVED having a washer to wash our clothes. Perfect for our traveling family.
I'd stay here again and I'd recommend it to a friend. (But I'd tell them to maybe wash the blankets themselves before they use them.)
