The apartment is just two minutes from the Old Bridge,
in Guicciardini Street, direction Pitti Palace, in the third gallery on the right, the palace where Machiavelli house was situated. It is a very quiet, inside apartment.
It is located on the Oltrarno side of the river, with a perfect location for shopping and sightseeing.
It is few steps from the Pitti Palace and the Boboli gardens, the largest park in Florence.
In the gallery is situated the most famous ceramic shop that is a showroom that introduces the art of Tuscany ceramics. Their ceramics, fruit of the job and the hands of the man on the earth, is rich of colours and shows the same fruits and plants that make this region so loved and admired. Between their typical products, they have oil bottles, cookies box, wine jugs and other ceramic items to use or for decoration.Mery, the owner, make the design for the collection anything is made by hand and painted by end, each piece is unique
New opening in Piazza Pitti supermarket, less than 50m
I love Florence and after university I decide to live here, so my husband came here from the south part of Italy and now with the girl we live in this beatiful city.
I'm an architect, I make same design of pottery and I have a ceramic shop in the gallery.
The Owner purchased this apartment in 2007
This is an investment for us and for the girls when they grow up.Now we live outside the city but we hope to live here one day.
It is an apartment inside the gallery in a courtyard, so very quite. You can walk every where without a car.
I hope that you enjoy in your vacation.
Just had a fantastic week in Mery's apartment, a friendly, helpful and attentive host.
Oltrarno's a great area just to wander around in the early evenings, many Trattorias and pizzerias, and all the key sights a simple 5-10 minute walk across the Ponte Vecchio into the centre of the old city.
The flat was as described, and everything was in working order and clean. The neighborhood was very vibrant, and literally a stones throw from the Ponte Vecchio and Uffizzi.
Despite the bustle outside, the flat felt very secluded and tranquil. I will definitely consider this property for my next visit.
My wife and I and another couple spent three days here and it is hard to express in words how great it is! The location is PERFECT; right down the street from the Ponte Vecchio, with restaurants, shops and markets all very close by. Across the bridge is all of Florence to be explored! The entrances to the courtyard and the building are both gated, and Mery, the owner, has her pottery shop just downstairs. She is the sweetest! Her pottery is beautiful, too, so be sure to have a stroll through her shop. We had such a great time in this location, I'd give it six stars if I could. We will definitely be back to visit again!
We enjoyed our two day stay at Mery's apartment. Apartment is very centrally located and very clean. Mery was very helpful in answering questions and providing tips for sightseeing. She even helped us book Uffizi and academia visits in advance. Overall great stay.
My husband and I stayed at Mery's apartment in May and enjoyed our stay there. Mery spoke English very well and was extremely helpful in answering our questions, and being available if we needed anything. She was kind enough to upgrade us at no charge from the small apartment to the large one, just for our own comfort. My husband and I certainly didn't need all of the extra space (3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, and living room), but it was lovely to escape the confines of the tiny hotel rooms we had been frequenting in other parts of Italy.
The location was suburb. We were about a 15 minute walk from the train station, 10 minutes from the Duomo and shopping, and 2 blocks from the bridge. We never needed a taxi, and loved the central location. We were close to 2 grocery stores, and minutes away from several delicious restaurants.
If you're looking for luxury, this isn't a fancy place. It's simple, but well furnished and everything functioned well. Although older, it was very clean and we saw no bugs, even when we left the patio doors open. There were extra blankets in each room, and towels were provided. The kitchen was fully stocked with plates, cups, cooking pans, and utensils.
Our only complaint was the master bed. The mattress was not connected to the frame, which made it noisy at times, and the pillows would fall behind the bed at night. Either attaching the bed frame, or offering several more pillows would easily solve this problem.
Overall we were pleased with our experience, and we will pursue renting here again if we are in Florence.
My husband and I stayed in Mery's apartment for three nights while visiting Florence in October. The apartment was darling, well-equipped, and perfectly located next to il Ponte Vecchio - everything we wanted to see in Florence was an easy walk. Mery and her husband were the most gracious hosts and provided excellent recommendations for dining. We'd definitely stay there again!
