Park in the island lot, load up the Periwinkle boat (small boat provided) and in 5 minutes you're on the island. 1 cottage away from the bay.
Relax on the porch swing and watch tugs and sailboats cruise by the island. Swim at the SANDY BEACH or out to the swim-float then shower under the sun.
Sunny, casual living area with TV, movies, books, games and puzzles. Sweet yard with picnic table & gas grill. Sand toys and beach chairs included. Young and old return year after year.

Guestbook: Onset Island is an absolute dream vacation for people looking to get away from the stress of the modern world. The island is pristine, safe, and charming. No cars, no loud noise, no bright street lights-only stars in the sky and the warm ocean breeze. Onset Islanders are a warm bunch who really take pride in the heritage of their private island. The cottage itself is very clean, decorated well, and has a great ocean view! The area around the cottage is landscaped well, and there is even a nice swing to relax on!
I have been back for less than a week and I am ready to make plans for a return visit!
If you like Cape Cod, but would maybe like to try something different, away from the tourist traps and the traffic, then I highly recommend trying out Periwinkle on Onset Island. Don't let the reasonable rental rate make you think twice, this cottage and island are just wonderful.

Guestbook: The Periwinkle is a lovely cottage, and time spent on Onset Island is certainly a unique experience! It's only a 2 minute boatride from the mainland, but once you arrive it's a world away. The Periwinkle is sunny and casual and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. Getting on and off the island is no big deal in the boat provided. All ages visit the island, I saw babies as well as elderly being helped into boats. Kids love the beach, fishing, the play park and sense of freedom you get on the island. We pryed ourselves 'off-island' a few times to have dinner at the Harbour Watch Inn in town and catch movie night at the band shell. We plan to return to OI and the Periwinkle and leave the car, the problems and the world behind if only for a little while.

Guestbook: I loved being on Onset Island. The cottage is great - just enough comforts but not too many. The outdoor shower was wonderful. The toys, rafts, chairs and general supplies were plenty. I loved the simplicity of the island - no cars, or noise, great sunrises and sunsets, beautiful skies at night with even a shooting star or two, great sky during a beautiful thunder, lighting and rain storm, views of water unlimited and plenty of down time.
