About The Owner
My name is Jonathon. My wife and I purchased this home a few years ago. We originally used our Hawaii home as a second home for our family. We would spend about half a year in Hawaii and the other half of the year at our principal residence in California.
After several extended stays at this tranquil home, Tory and I decided to make Hawaii our primary residence. In 2008, we moved our family of six children to the North Shore of Oahu. We lived in this home full-time for several years.
Each of us thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The kids became avid surfers. The home has several surf breaks within easy paddling distance. Tory and our youngest son enjoyed a daily swim in front of the home. The area is reef protected, so the area in front of the home is like a giant swimming pool during the summer months. They would swim with their goggles so that they could watch the fish and turtles underneath them. My favorite activities were extended walks on the beach with Tory, and sitting on the lanai, especially at sunset. The home faces west, so the sunsets from the lanai are spectacular.
Circumstances are such that we had to return to full-time residency on the Mainland. I have aging parents that presently need assistance and Tory and I also enjoy being by our grandchildren. In this stage of life, we are happy and content to use the home part-time and share it with guests when it is available.

Why The Owner chose Haleiwa
Importantly, our property manager, Paul, is an amazing person. He personally resides full-time on the North Shore. He lives just a couple of minutes from our home and has lived here for many years. He is a great resource of local information and is personally available to answer questions or take care of situations during your vacation.
Paul makes his living in the real estate industry in Hawaii. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to the North Shore real estate market. He is an author and an accomplished professional photographer.
Paul is committed to making your vacation at our Hawaii home as enjoyable as possible.
What makes this house unique
This home is a comfortable, lovely beach house. This particular beach is locally known as Alligator Rock. This stretch of sandy beach has a prominent rock in the water shaped like an alligator. The position of this rock in the water has created a protected area right behind it that the local residents call the kiddie pool. The kiddie pool is about knee to waist deep and has a sandy bottom. The water is calm, and it is perfect for children of all ages to splash, swim, and play.
Several notable surf breaks are within paddling distance. Since the beach is predominantly reef protected, the ocean in front of the home is like a giant pool during the summer months. The snorkeling is spectacular. Turtles frequent the area and are easy to see. During the spring season, you can sit on the lanai and watch the whales breach and spout in the distance as they pass by the home. The spinner dolphins are always exciting to watch, too.
What is particularly unique about this location is its privacy. This beach has only one public access point, and it does not have a public parking area, so it is mainly accessed and utilized by residents in the neighborhood. It is very peaceful, clean, beautiful and uncrowded. The neighborhood residents are friendly and happy.
Since it is a family-oriented neighborhood, I ask that you be quiet and respectful. Many of the neighbors have full-time jobs, commute into Honolulu, and need a quiet-night's rest. Our home is perfect for quiet get aways. If you are looking for late night activities or to stay up late making a lot of noise, I strongly and respectfully ask that you do not rent our home. I want my guests to fit in to the enjoyable surroundings and make a positive contribution to the neighborhood. By doing so, you will leave your vacation with new friends and wonderful memories. Thank you for your consideration.
