An Epic 50th Birthday

I recently stayed at the Sasquatch lodge in Deer Valley. I was going to celebrate my 50th Birthday. The season was a little early being it was early Dec, but we were not really there to ski anyway.
The property was amazing. Fully stocked with all the creature comforts including kitchen utensils, gas fireplpace, comfortable leather couch. The crown jewl was the pricate hot tub on the deck looking out over the mountains and the Deer Valley ski resort.
Well, the snow began on Thursday. It did not stop until Sunday. We received 24 plus inches in 30 hours and covered everything with the nice fluffy powder that Park City is known for.
I had to shovel the snow off the hot tub cover several times as we got into the nice hot bubbling water to sip a nice glass of wine and catch snow flakes in our hair, the only thing sticking up out of the water.
For anyone who has not been to Park City, you are missing out. From Salt Lake, it is just a quick 30 to 45 min interstate run away. Main street is filled with old western charm, full of galleries, restaurants and great places to browse and have an adult beverage. Had a couples massage in the Mountain spa as well.
The nightlife gets rolling around 10ish and there is some great live entertainment at The Spur and Ciseroe's on the main drag. Make sure to find the state liquor store on you map however if you want some finer spirits, it's the law.
Also met Jack at Park City Ink, what a colorful character he is "no pun intended" as he owns the only Tattoo parlor in Park City.
Back to the property though. Full amenities, covered parking, great view, excellent service from Suzanne, the owner as well. We requested High thred count cotton on one bed and flannel on the other. A little variety but oh how comfortable the beds were. Make sure you get the flannel though. A little better.
If you have an i-pod, bring your jack and plug it into the TV. Fill the place with your favorite sounds and enjoy the Sasquatch Lodge. I assure you thet it will not dissappoint as well as the activities of Deer Valley and Park City as well.
As a final thought, if you like a micro brew, stop by the Wasatch Brew pub and get the Poligamy Porter... a great brew.
I can only imagine what it is like at the peak of ski season. But actually, it was quite nice to spens a nice, quiet birthday getaway with someone special... in a place so very special.
