Our beautiful country guest house has a quiet rural setting but is a convenient 5 minute drive to all that Lake placid offers and 20 minutes to Whiteface mountain. It features mountain views, bright cheery rooms, a modern fully equipped kitchen, nice quality furnishings, comfortable beds, a gas parlor stove and much more. The home is stylishly Adirondack with post and beam construction with rustic bark trim. Bathrooms are brand new and nicely tiled. Outside on the deck is a hot tub. If it's a game you want to play, there is a large game room with pool table and Wii game station.

There's much to do nearby. Ski or hike out your door on the many trails that surround our property. You'll probably see deer in the evenings. Take your dog out for a run in the fields. Take a canoe trip up the Chubb River exploring for osprey, beaver and the occasional eagle. Check out our horses grazing in the pastures nearby or soak in the hot tub on the deck.

Our guest house is located in the rural countryside just outside of Lake Placid village. The area is renowned for winter sports having hosted two Winter Olympics. Nearby facilities provide opportunities for alpine and cross country skiing, ice skating, bobsled, luge, snowmobiling, among many others. The village has many exciting shops and cultural centers including the Lake Placid Center for the Arts. Located centrally in the High Peaks region, miles of trails are available for hiking, snowshoeing, and skiing. Located on our property are several trails worth exploring. Each June there are two weeks of professional level equestrian competitions. Several streams, lakes, and reservoirs are nearby, providing opportunity for boating, fishing, and swimming.

Notes: The kitchen features hickory cabinetry, tile floors, and new appliances. Counter tops are beautiful granite. The black granite breakfast bar is a great place for drinks and conversation while the chef prepares the meal. The dining room is adjacent to the kitchen and seats 8.

Great Rental

Lake Placid is so beautiful in the summer. This house is away from it all but only a 5 minute drive to town. Perfect for dogs - on a quiet street and lots of land. The house was just as pictured, clean and peaceful. I am a picky renter so cleanliness and up-to-date amenities are very important to me.

There was a 100-mile hiking trail just down the road. We often grilled on the deck and enjoyed the view. The kitchen was great for preparing meals and socializing. There is also a pool table.

We had a great two weeks in this house - perfect if you want to eat at home a few nights during your visit and enjoy the quiet, crisp Lake Placid air.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

The Ideal Long Weekend Stay in Lake Placid

This was a last-minute booking for a last-minute decision to ski-board over the weekend. Lake Placid had snow in the forecast so we decided to go. We had a choice of a bigger condo in the village or a 4-star hotel, but the photos of this house suggested this could be the more comfortable choice.

We did not go wrong! The house was pretty & cozy, the upstairs bedrooms and library most especially. Nicely furnished & decorated. The beds made for a restfull sleep after a day of skiing.

he bathrooms were new & clean. The kitchen was also new and clean --- but may benefit from a few more cooking utensils.

It was cold the first night, but we got used to the solar heating system the next 2 nights. The living area downstairs was a little tight, and not as inviting as the ambience upstairs. But the listing did say 1800 sqft and a house good for 8 max. (We were 6 in total.) So, there was truth to that. On the other hand, I think the big BEAR decor in the living room made the space look smaller and less appealing.

The downstairs bedroom has bunk beds. Non-kids have to be extra careful & mindful about the possibility of hitting their heads getting into or out of the upper bunk. Kids would probably love it, but the trade off is that the rest of the bedrooms suited for adults are on the second floor, meaning the kids are a floor away from their parents.

The house was clean, with just a couple or so "greasy" spots we noticed on the wood floors upstairs. A hair dryer would have been a nice addition to the 'amenities'.

Location was good, an easy drive to the restaurants & stores and to Whiteface Mountain.

We were very pleased with this rental; in fact it is one of
our best from cyberrentals. The owners were very nice to deal with, especially since this was a last-minute booking.
She even mailed so quickly a toiletry kit we left in one of the bathroom drawers.

Very good value for its rental rate! Very good choice for the long-weekend trip to lake Placid. We will definitely consider renting this house again and would recommend it
to friends/a group of 6 looking to rent.
