Lake Placid Vacation Rental house

This was a last-minute booking for a last-minute decision to ski-board over the weekend. Lake Placid had snow in the forecast so we decided to go. We had a choice of a bigger condo in the village or a 4-star hotel, but the photos of this house suggested this could be the more comfortable choice.

We did not go wrong! The house was pretty & cozy, the upstairs bedrooms and library most especially. Nicely furnished & decorated. The beds made for a restfull sleep after a day of skiing.

he bathrooms were new & clean. The kitchen was also new and clean --- but may benefit from a few more cooking utensils.

It was cold the first night, but we got used to the solar heating system the next 2 nights. The living area downstairs was a little tight, and not as inviting as the ambience upstairs. But the listing did say 1800 sqft and a house good for 8 max. (We were 6 in total.) So, there was truth to that. On the other hand, I think the big BEAR decor in the living room made the space look smaller and less appealing.

The downstairs bedroom has bunk beds. Non-kids have to be extra careful & mindful about the possibility of hitting their heads getting into or out of the upper bunk. Kids would probably love it, but the trade off is that the rest of the bedrooms suited for adults are on the second floor, meaning the kids are a floor away from their parents.

The house was clean, with just a couple or so "greasy" spots we noticed on the wood floors upstairs. A hair dryer would have been a nice addition to the 'amenities'.

Location was good, an easy drive to the restaurants & stores and to Whiteface Mountain.

We were very pleased with this rental; in fact it is one of
our best from cyberrentals. The owners were very nice to deal with, especially since this was a last-minute booking.
She even mailed so quickly a toiletry kit we left in one of the bathroom drawers.

Very good value for its rental rate! Very good choice for the long-weekend trip to lake Placid. We will definitely consider renting this house again and would recommend it
to friends/a group of 6 looking to rent.
