Stay away! Far, Far Away!

Rented 01/2009. Refused to provide firewood after e-mailing me that it was provided. Front porch not shoveled, 12+ inches of snow, with ice, (one in our party fell and hit her head), walkways to bath house and hot tub also not shoveled. Only after arguing with owner for nearly half an hour on the phone did he agree to send someone over to shovel. Arrived at house to find a notice on the front door from the electric company stating electric would be turned off as of our departure date (always a great sign). Basement w/ ping pong and pool tables is unheated, one small space heater in that area. Smoke alarms and carbon monoxide monitors were not plugged in in loft area (where there is a bedroom and bathroom). No firewood, so no fireplace and no bathhouse. Cold plunge was dirty, leaves and other debris in bottom. Door handle to slider was broken. There was garbage on the deck. Tired to vacuum, popped a breaker, breaker box was in the most disgusting, dirty room imaginable. On our last night there, the propane tanks ran out and we woke to 60 degree temp. and left hours before our rental agreement departure time. Owner held our security deposit for nearly a month when it was clearly stated in agreement that it was to be sent out within 24 hours of our departure. Overall, an awful experience.

Due to major snow storms during the period in question we had various problems with scheduled deliveries and services. Our attempts to resolve the situation by making alternate arrangements were met with full dismissal by the renters and demands for refunds.

99% of our clients absolutely love staying at this house. This house is truly unique and offers amenities unlike any other. Don't let this unjust review steer you away from this gem in the Catskills. You will not stop smiling while you are here and you will not regret it! After you stay here, please come back and review this house, you be the judge!
