Relaxing setting, beautiful Log home

I just recently spent the weekend at the cabin with my wife and two small children.

The cabin is laid out for relaxing and entertaining with friends and family. Although, we took this trip alone, we could have easily accomodated more then a few extra guest. There is huge kitchen laid out nicely for cooking large meals. There is plenty of cooking ware, plates and utensils for a large crew. I especially enjoyed the espresso machine for my afternoon cup of joe!

The property is filled with amenities. It was nice to just hang out and relax while listening to Christmas music over the whole house audio system. It really added to the atmosphere. The house also has wireless internet access which was great to check the weather and skiing conditions (and emails). We enjoyed other features as well such as the pool table and outdoor Nordic hottub. I even payed a few songs on the piano downstairs.

The skiing was great. Sunday river is only about 10 minutes away and it is an easy trip to and from the mountain. My wife and daughter spent the whole day skiing while I stayed back at the cabin and took care of our youngest. Sledding on the property was alot of fun too!

The property was very quiet which is sooo nice. About the only thing we could here from the road was the snow plow going by. The other really nice feature is that they have a driveway alarm that sounds when some one comes up the driveway over the bridge leading to the house. It sounded off even when my wife and daughter went for a walk. The bridge is the only access to the property from the road so that was very comforting.

So overall, we were very happy with our stay and will definitely be back to enjoy the cabin some more!

A group of us have been going to the Bear River Cabin every February for a few years now. There is plenty of room for everyone. Sunday River is close by, sleeding in the yard with the kids, great walking trails.

Plenty to do at the house, from a game of pool, cards, relaxing in the hot tub, taking in the fresh Maine air snow-shoeing around the property or on the trails, reading a book or just listening to music from the sound system that can be heard throughout the house and outside.

We look forward to a Spring/Summer trip to go hiking, canoeing, and enjoy the tranquility of the property

Great Summer Escape

We had the pleasure of spending a wonderful week in this cabin! We had three families with a total of 14 people (6 adults, 8 kids). The entire group had a blast. The house itself is spectacular. The pictures don't do it justice. We all had the same reaction when we drove up the driveway and the cabin revealed itself. Simply great. The cabin was truly updated with every amenity and clean. Marc was super helpful on a couple of questions that we had and always got back to us ASAP. The house is set-up so that you can have groups separate or all together. There is no shortage of outdoor things to do within a short distance. Bethel is a beautiful mountain village. You really don't need to leave the property. Fishing and swimming in the stream are available and great hiking up Puzzle Mountain is right across the road. We can't wait to go back again..this time during the winter! Highly recommended.

Great family destination

Our family of five went to this cabin last winter with another family . It is absolutely amazing,there is plenty of space for adults and kids! This cabin is immaculate! It more than lived up to all of our expectations! Rustic but elegant! An excellent winter getaway, however we would all go back anytime of year!!

MOST AMAZING CABIN STAY EVER!!!

I planned a surprise birthday party weekend for my boyfriend this past June at the Bear River Cabin. When we pulled up he could not believe his eyes and his jaw dropped at the site of this amazing property (my reaction was just about the same). When we walked in we both could not believe how much space there was, how much detail was put into this cabin and really just how lovely it was.

At this time, the rest of the party goers had not arrived. My bf thought I had rented this entire house just for us. I wouldn't even know what to do with all that space being just the two of us. There were about 12 of us in total and there was more than enough room for everyone to sleep comfortably -- not that much sleeping was done.

Honestly you do not even have to leave the cabin to have a good time. There is so much to do from grilling to hanging in the hot tub to cooking up a storm in the amazing kitchen. We had lobster one night and we all fit at the dining room table comfortably. It was great being able to have family style meals with all the room available.

The pool room was definitely taken advantage of and the surround sound (literally throughout the entire inside and outside of the cabin) was amazing. There is not much - if anything- around the cabin so it is perfectly fine to let loose a bit and have a good time.

There is plenty of storage from the kitchen to the bedrooms to the restrooms.

This cabin is very well maintained and it is obvious there was a lot of time and effort put into designing this house. This is a weekend we have all still chatted about--- one of -if not- the best weekend of the summer. This weekend was the most fun and the most relaxing and let loose weekend of the summer. We all agree this is THE place we want to spend a weekend or even week at every summer.

It was terribly difficult to leave this cabin at the end of our amazing weekend.

I couldn't say anything but positive things about our weekend stay at the cabin. I would suggest it to anyone wanting plenty of privacy, plenty of fun and plenty of relaxation.

Marc and Melissa (cabin owners) are so pleasurable and extremely accommodating.

I cannot wait until next summer to make the trip there again--- though I can only imagine how absolutely amazing staying at the cabin could be in the winter. The house is located very close to the ski slopes which is just another added bonus of this place.

Recommended for: Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers, Romantic Getaway
