I can't say enough about our vacation in the Virgin Islands and these accomodations. This condo is exactly what is advertised. Well maintained, clean, the location is outstanding. We actually rented two units on Sapphire, one upstairs for the adults and the kids stayed in this ground floor unit. I often wanted to switch with them due to the closeness to the beach and pool. The US VI is the best island chain for a Caribbean vacation and Red Hook is the best part of St. Thomas to stay. It is easy to get to restaurants, activities and supplies. Sapphire beach is an awesome place. The reef on the right side at the end of the pier is excellent for snorkeling. We spent several days of our trip going no where but staying on the beach and it was great. Don't pass up St. John as a day trip. Trunk Bay for snorkeling and Cruz Bay for lunch are a great combination. I would recommend renting a car. In the long run is cheaper than taking taxis.
The only thing I would say is that the Antilles resorts end is a little dissapointing. The surf shop is okay but they need to clean up the main area and get a small store and restaurant open. Some who like the big resort ammenities like the Ritz might be a little dissapointed. I never did figure out the beach chair situation, they wanted to charge me $7 for one but there were usually some out there for free, especially if you secured one before they collected them in the morning and locked them up. They left them out all night. I will say that I was impressed with their security. The burger shack between B and C building serves excellent food.
Overall the situation with Antilles was no big deal. While I was researching a place to stay I looked at Secret Harbor, Bolongo Bay and Blue Beards. We visited all of those places and Sapphire was the obvious best choice. The beach itself makes it hard to pass up. The fine condo was just a bonus. Thank You Steve and Sherri, we will most likely return someday.
