The B&B 's new look has had a great response! Last year we freshen the bed rooms with new floral carpet to reflect the Victorian theme. The Snow Ghost Suite colors were changed to high light the carpet colors. The living room 15 feet (4.5 meter) bow window and corner fireplace make the room cozy, bright and warm. The Crystal Run, Big Timber and Enchanted Forest Rooms bay windows and comfortable window seats provide larger views of the ski runs and a great area to read. The covered 30 x 50 deck with full outdoor kitchen, fire place, one horse sleigh and hot tub are fun for everyone. The Snow Ghost Suite 2 balconies are up so high they provide huge views of the slopes. The guest garages keep snow off the cars!

My husband, Mel, and I are both Mechanical Engineers and business owners. We love to ski, sail, fish, hike, bike, hunt for antiques, restore old cars and older homes and prepare unique foods. We enjoy meeting people. Guests come to stay with us and leave as friends. We both like to show our guests around the ski area.
Marsha Bell purchased this chalet in 2002
We bought the B&B because it is right on the groomed ski trail. It is easy to ski in and ski out, you never have to walk in ski boots. YEA! Yet it is on the end of the road, no traffic nor grooming machines beeping in the middle of the night.
The property has a fantastic view, being the highest home on the mountain facing the ski area. It is a great location to watch the fire works, or other activities in the Village. The property also features ski-in ski-out access, with the groomed trail on our property. The hot tub on the deck is a fun place to be warm and have the snow flakes fall around you.
Thank you so much for the hospitality. We really enjoyed our stay. Have a wonderful rest of teh season!
Beautiful chalet, great hosts, amazing architectural design, close to resort, and well-appointed rooms. High end comfort along with wonderful breakfasts. Thanks to our gracious hosts especially for getting up early, early to make breakfasts for my young ski racer. Only issue is we didn't have any snow, only rain. The nice accommodations helped make up for the poor ski conditions. We also had a spontaneous/surprise birthday party for our daughter that turned out wonderful-- hats off and we'll be back next time for the powder! Thanks!!
Just a quick note of thanks for an absolutely fantastic and memorable mini-vacation at your lovely B&B. The kids kept saying “Amazing” during the whole stay.
Your gracious hospitality, gourmet breakfasts and interesting stories made our stay even more enjoyable. We look forward to returning next year.
All the Best,
We stayed with Marsha and Mel at their lodge for 2 nights on a trip through the Pacific Northwest. Everything about the lodge was fantastic. Breakfast was home cooked with fresh local ingredients, the rooms large, comfortable and beautifully presented, and the lodge has a great ski in/ski out location with none of the early morning noise you often get from machinery moving around a ski resort. Marsha and Mel went out of their way to help us enjoy our stay, including showing us around the ski resort on our first day (all day), picking us up from the village at night, providing tips on the local dining/entertainment and sitting around at night sharing in our conversation. Thanks Marsha and Mel. Schweitzer is a big mountain with great terrain for all standards. Unfortunately the conditions this season during our trip were unusually warm through the whole region but we hope to return one day and ride the mountain in its "full glory". The potential looks unlimited.
Brought my whole family up here. We rented the whole house. Mel and Marsha were very hospitable and cooked up some great food for breakfast. While us youngsters when boarding and skiing my parents and there friend enjoyed spending time down at the village. The shuttle was great and easy to use. A few of us even did some snowshoeing just up behind the house. Snow was awesome and weather was great. Thank you Mel and Marsha for making our family winter vacation a great one!
What a great way to discover an area. The accommodations were quiet and comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious. The hosts were personable, very interesting and extremely helpful in making our stay just what we were looking for. We hope to return. Thank you, Marsha and Mel
We booked our trip to Schweitzer and wanted to stay on the hill. The bed and breakfast location was great and the accommodations were fantastic. The best things were the covered deck with BBQ and hot tub, and the ability to use the kitchen facilities at night to prepare our own meals. As well, Marsha took us on a mountain tour our first day so we got to know our favourite areas more quickly than if we'd had to explore on our own.
Dog sledding. Snow shoeing. Cat skiing and guided snow mobile tours available through Selkirk Powder Company. Acclaimed ski school, beautiful chapel suitable for weddings and other services, excellent child care, ski rentals.
