Fantastic Vacation Spot

New Travelers Keedysville, Md
Review Submitted: July 26, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We can't say enough about this house and the owner. This was our first vacation house rental and we would definitely return here. The pictures and the description of the house were very accurate. We found the house to be very comfortable and clean, and there was an overall "good feeling" about the place. The appliances, pool and jacuzzi were all well maintained.

The owner's customer service was excellent. We arrived in the evening during a terrible thunderstorm which washed a bunch of debris in the pool. The next morning we called the owner to just say that we arrived and I happened to mention the debris in the pool. Within an hour, the pool maintenance people were out there and cleaned the pool beautifully. We were definitely impressed and pleased!

The beach is very close! It was an easy and safe walk for us with three small children. We also found the beach to be very pleasant - not crowded at all.

The town of Duck was great, though we spent most of our time at the beach or in the pool at the house. When we did venture into town, we enjoyed the shopping there and the restaurants - specifically the Sunset Grille because of the view of the water (the food was good too).

My husband and I would definitely recommend this property to our friends (we have already), and we hope to return there again soon.
Owner's Response: Thank you to my first time travelers. What a review!! Trying to find that perfect home for a first timer is a daunting task, to say the least. Will the home be as promised, does the owner care about her guests. Are the appliances in good working condition, and how is the house maintained. Are the pictures on the web site up to date, and do they show enough of the house and yard. Will the beach be as close as promised or is there a road between you and the beach. Is the owner fair with security deposits, or do we have to worry the entire time we are there. What does happen if something should break. Many questions for a first time traveler to the Outer Banks. There is nothing wrong with asking an owner if the pics are recent ones, or how old the appliances are, and are they in good working condition.
Owners do care about you and the home they are providing. If it helps to ease your mind, give the owner a call, they expect it. Just as an owner gets the feeling about a future guest, you should also be able to get a good feeling about the owner of your vacation rental home. Lets face it, this is your hard earned money, and for some people this is their only vacation. It is a good thing to take your time and ask questions.
As for the condition of my home, I can not take all the credit. The person that cleans my home is meticulous, and cares to provide me with a perfect cleaning every time, so important for a beach home. Both of my homes are her only homes on Sunday. My landscapers are weekly, and designed the beautiful park in the center of town. My pool man is top notch, and will be there after one phone call. My pool and hot tub are maintained perfectly. Chuck my appliance man, another caring person, and always on top of things. Roger my maintenance man is wonderful, a kind hearted gentleman that knows his stuff. Anything fixed in my home is always done perfectly. I am so grateful for the people who maintain Seaclusion and Mckenna. They know how to communicate and keep me up to date at all times.
As for me... I take your vacation personally, after all, you have paid me for a wonderful vacation, and that's what you will get!
Thank you to my Awesome Guests of the 2009 season.

Review Submitted: July 11, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
Seaclusion was a nice vacation house. We liked the fact that it is close to the beach but not too close. Everything worked and we had a very nice stay. We also liked being on the south side of Duck because we avoided a lot of traffic. The owner is very friendly and helpful and besides the fact that the house needed some maintenance everything was good.
Owner's Response: Thank you for reviewing Seaclusion. I am pleased your family had a good time, and loved our end of town. For me, there is no place to compare. We are all enjoying what makes the Outer Banks special, and that is its nature, its natural beauty. A simple act like walking the beach or surf fishing early in the morning, or the sun setting over the sound, the ocean breeze and waves, and how can we forget the pelicans flying in formation high in the beautiful Outer Banks sky.
Oh...so many memories that will endure a lifetime.

A Great Place

Sunny8168 Upstate NY
Review Submitted: July 8, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
We recently rented Seaclusion for a week with several samll children. The house was great - clean, comfortable, and private. The walk to the beach was an easy one - even with small children and the pool and hot tub were great. Our children thoroughly enjoyed their first beach experience and are still happily chatting about "their" ocean. Karen was absolutely great to work with - super communication and always so pleasant. The information you sent before our stay was helpful and much appreciated. We hope to be back again next year!!
Owner's Response: Thank you Sunny for taking the time to review Seaclusion.
We have such busy lives that it is somtimes impossible to get a minute to write a review. There are many future guests that ask me if I have reviews, and thanks to you, I have many reviews for all to read.
I love watching the little ones on the beach, so innocent and happy to be with all the folks they love the most, and don't always get to see. What memory's we are creating for our children, a dream come true.
Thank you,
Karen (owner of Seaclusion)

Perfect for us

Angie loves Duck Weehawken, NJ
Review Submitted: June 19, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
The owner of this house is just the sweetest person and made sure that we were totally satisfied with our stay. The house itself was very clean, welcoming and comfortable. The decor is casual/cozy/relaxing with as splash of fun. The backyard was our favorite hang-out, we almost forgot to spend time at the beach, which was very close. At night you can hear the waves from the deck.
The whole family felt at home and at peace right away, so I hope we'll be back next year!
Owner's Response: Thank you Angela for taking the time to write this wonderful review. I can't tell you how much a positive review means to me. I am always working hard behind the scene, so to say, to ensure your vacation is a perfect one. All of you will receive a phone call from me, at least once, to make sure you are satisified with your vacation home, it is well maintained, and everything is as expected. When I read positive reviews, I know that the many professional people that take care of my home, are all doing the job right.....Barbara and her girls, a top notch cleaning crew, Roger my maintenance man, who is never without a smile and good word for everyone, Terry my pool man who has been with me for years, Chuck my appliance man, and Angie and her many crews that come in once a week to keep the yard in tip top shape. It does take a village of caring people to keep a good vacation home going.
Thank you to all of my past and future guests, some have been returning for years. Thank you to all...for taking care of my home as if it were your own. I will continue to do my best to please you.

Second year and counting

Ryan and family from Indiana Indianapolis, Indiana
Review Submitted: August 6, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
My family and I have spent many vacations in rental homes in various beach towns throughout the Eastern US. Out of all of them, our experience at Seaclusion ranks at or near the top. We had such a good time last year that we decided to return this year and will probably be back for many years to come. The house was well appointed and it was clear that Karen takes pride in her home and treats those who stay at Seaclusion as her personal guests. Before our trip she sent us a detailed packet of information which included things to see, restaurants, brochures, a list of local golf courses and tons of other extremely useful information (even more in it this year than last). It made planning our vacation stress free and fun. When we arrived we found the house spotless, the pool sparkling and the hot-tub ready to use. All we had to do was put down our bags and start enjoying the beach, which was only a short walk away. Though we had no problems, Karen made sure to call us during the week to check on us and left us all the necessary numbers to contact her and her maintenance crew. You will not find a better place to spend a relaxed, fun-filled vacation.
Owner's Response: It has been a pleasure getting to know my guests over the years. I have many guest that have been with me for many years. I appreciate all of my guests, but am especially thankful to my families who visit year after year. Seaclusion seems to be their home away from home.
Thank you,
Karen (owner of Seaclusion)
