Surrounding Area:
The harbour town of Torrevieja has a superb selection of shops, bars, restaurants and discos for the young and energetic. The Friday market is the largest outdoor market in southern Spain, situated by the sea front. There are two aqua parks, go-karting, laser quest, ten pin bowling, squash, tennis, and a fairground open in the summer season. There are five main beaches in Torrevieja. For walkers and lovers of nature Torrevieja offers stunning cliff walks, many natural beauty spots and of course the two huge natural salt water lakes, teeming with bird life. The salt water lakes absorb water from the atmosphere and create a special microclimate, which is widely regarded to be beneficial for health problems. The Mar Menor is Europe's biggest salt water lagoon consisting of 73 kilometres of coastline peppered with small villages and attracts not only water sports fans but thousands of birds, including flamingo’s which make a magnificent sight during the autumn migration.
The Beach:
Located 850 metres from the apartment is the beautiful Blue Flag beach of Mil Palmeras, which has all the necessary services and facilities to make your visit enjoyable. Stroll along the waters edge, then have a drink at one of the many local bars and restaurants situated along the coastline. As well as it's beaches, coves and sports harbours (Cabo Roig and Camporamor), you can enjoy a wide range of water-sports throughout the whole year due to the excellent climate. Mil Palmeras has an average temp. of 20c with over 300 sunny days per year !
Local Golf Courses:
This area of Spain is a golfers paradise with 7 superb golf courses - three within 15 minutes drive of our apartment. Real Club de Golf Campoamor has excellent scenery and a lovely clubhouse serving great lunches and dinners. The layout of the course has been designed for both the professional and amateur player. The course is 100 meters above sea level with wide and long fairways. Club de Golf Villamartin is a championship course and was host to the Spanish Open in 1985. The course is not too long, and is well adapted to the natural surroundings and terrain. Club de Golf Las Ramblas is located between two ravines on the shore of the Mediterranean. The course is probably one of the hardest in the area. The other 4 courses, Golf & Country Club La Marquesa, Club de Golf Alenda, Club de Golf Alicante Golf and Club de Golf Bonalba are within 30 mins drive to the North.
