Spring and Summer Activities: Enjoy our year around retreat and northwoods attractions. Spring and early summer are exceptional times for early fishing or exploring the numerous area walking trails and waterfalls some cascading over 90 feet. With over 200 inches of snow most years, the rivers are gorged, the fish are spawning and the spring green is on its way. Whitewater activities, river trips and canoeing are all outstanding this time of year. The spring is absolutely revitalizing in the northwoods. Summer is jam packed with fun exciting activities. Hunderds of miles of ATV trails traverse Iron, Ashland and Price counties. It is an ATVers Paradise. You can have the best of relaxation by enjoying the sounds of the wild or the fast pace of tourist activities being located approximately 1 hour from Hayward, Ashland or Bayfield and 45 minutes from the Minocqua area. Park Falls and Mercer are about 20 miles away and have multiple summer activities, shops and northwoods fun.
Fall and Winter Activities: Fall is a great time for the people that appreciate the autumn colors, hiking, biking, canoeing, or enjoy the thrills of viewing or hunting wild game. This is a great time to go for that trophy musky, walleye, deer, bear, turkey or any wild game you enjoy pursuing. Park Falls is the Ruffed Gouse Capitol of the World and Glidden is the Black Bear Capitol of the World. This area is a wild life veiwer or hunters dream. Winter with an average of 200 inches of snow fall makes this area a dream for those that enjoy winter sports. Over 1 thousand miles of snowmobile trails between Iron, Ashland and Price counties. You can access the snowmobile trails directly from your door. Some of the best cross country ski trails and down hill skiing are near by. Ice anglers you can sit in your cabin and watch your tip ups.
