CAPTIVATING FARMHOUSE IN THE CATSKILLS~ FUN RETREAT WITH POND AND TRAILS

Our group was 5 adults + 1 baby. We stayed at the cabin for 6 nights over the Christmas holiday and had an absolutely amazing time.

The cabin itself is spacious, yet homey, with a great fireplace, nice big kitchen and dining area, and plenty of supplies. The cabin is well insulated and gets great light in the mornings. We felt so relaxed within minutes of arriving coming from NYC. Barbara - the owner - is a wonderful person to work with - she is very responsive, kind, and clearly cares about your experience.

There is a lot to do in the area within a 15-20 minute drive - we explored Woodstock, Saugerties, and a few of the hikes in the area.

Our daughter was married on a mountaintop in West Shoken, NY, on July 21. In making plans for the exciting day, we needed lodging for members of the bridal party and family members coming from France. After researching several properties we settled on three houses to rent near the wedding site, one being this rustic farmhouse. From my initial contact with the owner of this property and throughout the subsequent rental, I was at all times most impressed with her professionalism and organization. We communicated by email and an occasional phone call, and Barbara was always courteous and helpful. Her detailed description of this farmhouse and the pictures on her posting were totally accurate. We ended up having a married couple with three young children; a couple from France; and a single Frenchman staying in the house. There was ample room for this group of 8 family members. When we enter the house for our three night stay, we found fresh linen on all the beds, an up to date washer and dryer, and a well equipped kitchen capable of serving at least 8 persons. The house was cleaned from top to bottom and was fully furnished with functional pieces, that were able to withstand the wear and tear of a group of 8, including three young children. Apart a barbecue one evening, we did not use the house for much entertaining as we were involved with the wedding during most of our time in the Catskills. The three children in the house particularly enjoyed playing frisbee in the ample back yard and most of all, climbing the big hill-cliff next to the house.
Barbara had given us detailed descriptions of local resources so we knew exactly where to go for each and every one of our needs.
We were so impressed with the time we had in this farm house, that we plan to go back another time when we can just relax without having the pressure and stress of planning and carrying out a wedding.

You must stay here to really appreciate the wonder of this property. We stayed here for the most relaxing, peaceful, enchanting four days we have had in years. The property is like being on the set of a period film with it's charming pond, forest and mountain in your back yard and majestic rock formations. You are a short and beautiful drive to many of the Catskills amazing towns and attractions. The interior of the home is most charming with the original architecture and features but with the modern conveniences wanted. The home is fully equipped with everything one needs, just bring yourself, family, or friends to experience this amazing place. Barbara who is the owner of this wonderland is as charming as the the place it self. If you have any questions or needs she is so prompt to be sure they are met.
