Casa Konomi is located in Akumal, a quaint resort of private residences in the popular Riviera Maya. Akumal, which in Maya is 'The place of the turtles' is one of the most satisfying destinations on the azure Caribbean coastline. This villa is with-in walking distance of Yalku Lagoon, a natural aquarium which never fails to impress those interested in a fantastic snorkeling experience. Also with in a short walk from Casa Konomi are Half Moon Bay beach and Akumal Bay beach; both bays are filled with stunning coral reefs and sea life such as turtles, rays and schools of colorful fish. The drive to Cancun airport is an easy hour + drive, yet light years away from the hustle and bustle. Nearby are the busy towns of Playa Del Carmen, Puerto Aventuras, and Tulum. It is only short scenic drive to the famous Mayan ruins of Tulum, Coba and Chitzen Itza. Dramatic eco-parks such as Xcaret and Xel-Ha are just a few minutes in either direction. Beaches near Casa Konomi are gorgeous and unique.

Based on the beautiful pictures on the C.F. website we knew that Casa Konomi was a gorgeous home, however, it surpassed our expectations! The garden pool area with our own palapa eating area; the gourmet kitchen with all the amenities that one could ask for on a vacation;the large bedrooms with extreme detail; the beautifully tiled bathrooms; the very large rooftop for sunrise and sunset viewings. Our vacation was a joy and the caretakers Lucio and Leti were amazing; so pleasant and helpful. One of the highlights was going on a day trip to Coba with Lucio as our guide. Thank you C.F. - we will be back again to Casa Konomi!

Casa Konomi, a Fabulous Home

Casa Konomi is a fabulous home in Akumal. During the past 20 years we have rented 7 different homes in the Caribbean and in Mexico. Casa Konomi is number 1. Both Leti and Lucio are warm, charming, friendly and go out of their way to make your guests feel at home. We felt like we were at home during our week as Casa Konomi.. The house offers so many wonderful places to sit and relax whether you like the sun or the shade. We enjoyed taking the golf cart in to the little town and shopping at the various stores, some of which have very high quality and interesting arts. Eating in the local restaurants was a treat, with wonderful and inexpensive meals eaten as we wiggled our toes in the sand. Leti and her chef husband made us two wonderful Yucatan meals (certainly the best quacamole and salsa we have ever had!). We cannot wait to return to the house in June.

This is our favorite villa in Mexico!

We have stayed at many villas in the Akumal area, and this is our family's favorite! It has everything a visitor could wish for including a pool, bikes and a golf cart, is private, yet close to the lagoon and the beach, with fanatastic views! The caretaker Lucio was so charming we wanted to pack him in our bags and bring him home with us. It was paradise for our family.

I have stayed at this property 2 times. The owners had just purchased the property on my 1st visit and you could tell they had alot of good additions going on. My trip was relaxing and I wanted for nothing. My 2nd visit to Konomi was October 2007 with a few co-workers who had never been to Konomi before. I could not believe my eyes at all the things that had been added to the home. There is simply NOTHING lacking. The home is spotlessly clean and maintained. The staff (Elmy & Lucio) are without a doubt Supreme in their field. They are courteous, warm and accomodating. I spent the early part of each day on the beautiful beach and the afternoons in the equally beautiful natural pool right there in the tropical yard. The BBQ is pool side, which made for easy food preparation. Akumal itself is quaint, beautiful and the people friendly and helpful.
I plan my next trip to Konomi in Oct.2008 and I can't wait.
I will never stay anywhere else.
