Great place to be for a family vacation-- very easy drive to Traverse City, local wineries, and Sleeping Bear Dunes. I like the inland lake (Leelanau)... it is less crowded and warmer than the Bay. The house worked well for our family of 4. We especially loved the large, flat backyard with fire pit in the evenings. The lake is pretty shallow a long way out, so safe/easy for kids to swim. The house has what you need, but isn't fancy. My one suggestion would be to add some better outside furniture since so much of the time is spent outside. Our favorite nearby activities were Sleeping Bear Dunes, Tubing on Lower Platte River, Tall Stack Sail Boat in Traverse.
My family had a wonderful time at this relaxing cottage! Just minutes from all the adventures of Traverse City. The kids had a blast in the lake and were able to walk out 50 yards before it became too deep. In the evening, we would go to a Beach Bum baseball game and then we would enjoy the amazing sunsets and sit by the fabulous fire pit. We had such an enjoyable time that I rented again in October for a girlfriends' weekend. The memories were made and the fun was had! Great place to rent whether it is for a family get away, girlfriend weekend, or just a couple weekend! Booked already for summer! Can't wait to go back!
The cottage was clean, warm and cozy with great views of the lake and a private setting. The layout worked well for us. We ate in a lot and found the kitchen nicely
equipped. We used the fire pit for spectacular smores every evening. Just a short
drive to the dunes, Lake Michigan, Traverse City, etc. Was a great place to
have a family gathering. We would definitely recommend to friends and family.
Loved Moomers ice cream parlor.
This home is located just 9 miles of downtown Traverse City. You are also only 15 minutes from Suttons Bay, home of the spectacular jazz and arts festivals, dozens of wineries on the peninsula, and the small villages of Leland and Glen Arbor. Lake Leelanau is a 5,000 acre very popular fishing and recreational lake, and it is divided into South Lake Leelanau and North Lake Leelanau by the town of Leelanau. This cottage is located on the east side of south Lake Leelanau
