Expect to wake in the morning to the sound of songbirds and look up from your comfortable bed to see the mist rising off of the glassy pond, looking across to the undisturbed marsh and picturesque farmland across the pond. This cottage is the perfect peaceful family getaway, with a comfortable, cozy interior, calm waters with a dock and float, and two kayaks and a canoe for your family to explore scenic Lovejoy Pond. Enjoy family picnics on the uninhabited island, or at the edge of the meadow just a short walk down a deserted wooded lane. The cottage is just 15 minutes from the historic town of Waterville with its theaters and restaurants, and just 25 minutes from the famed mid coast area. Belfast and Camden are renowned for their excellent restaurants, shops and antiquing--and Camden Hills State Park boasts some of the loveliest views and hiking in the State of Maine.

This cottage is located on Lovejoy Pond in Albion, ME, just outside of Unity. Albion is a landscape of rolling hills, picturesque farms and beautiful pastureland. Unity is home to a wonderful weekend farmer's market and the beautiful demonstration gardens and orchard at the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association. Albion is also only 15 minutes from the historic town of Waterville with restaurants and movies, and just 25 minutes from the town of Belfast on the coast. Belfast, Rockport, Camden and Rockland are all nearby coastal towns renowned for their excellent restaurants, great antiquing and shopping, and thriving arts scene as well as spectacular coastal scenery. Camden is home to the Camden Hills State Park, where visitors can climb Mt Batty for a stunning view of the harbor and islands.

Additional information about rental rates

  • $400 to $850
  • Weekly rental $850 or $400 weekend through Sept and Oct. Dogs will be considered for an extra fee of $100 per week.
    Towels and linens will be provided for an extra fee of $70 per week or weekend.
    There is a damage/ cleaning deposit of $250 refundable in ten days or less after your stay, assuming the cottage is in the same condition it was when you arrived.
    A deposit of $250 is needed to secure your stay, and upon cancellation is refundable only if your week is secured by another party.

  • The bathroom is small but has everything that you need. In typical maine camp fashion the hot water must be conserved and nothing but toilet paper can ever be put down the toilet.

  • There are plenty of places to sleep at this camp, but we request that only six guests at a time stay due to septic limitations. The sun porch room is for the early risers who love to commune with nature. The view of the pond is the first thing that you see in the morning and the moon and the stars over the otherwise completely darkened pond are the last thing that you see at night as you fall asleep to the sound of the frogs and crickets. The pine side room is a peaceful, private place to sleep in the back of the house tastefully furnished with antiques and a homemade quilt, with a window to catch the breezes off of the majestic white pines at the back of the camp. Boat side is a cozy, pine paneled room with a cot and antique chest and a game and book shelf perfect for the kids. The loft is a little nook over the living room with a skylight looking up into the stars and pine boughs. It is furnished with two air mattresses and has a built in ladder and safety rail.
