About The Owner
My vocation is law, but my avocation is real estate and creating inviting homes in peaceful settings. I discovered the cottage on a Sunday drive, loved the location, and acquired it to enjoy the majestic Mississippi River--in a private setting that is only 10 miles from La Crosse. As friends visited and asked to use it, the cottage became a popular rental.
The Owner purchased this cottage in 2006
Why The Owner chose La Crosse
Dakota has wide open views along the Mississippi. The setting is superb because the railroad tracks are not in your yard--which is the situation with many river cottages. The location is simply tranquil and peaceful--the light magical. You have complete privacy but are close to things you want to do.
What makes this cottage unique
Walking along the River (even at night, under the moon); the light of the morning sunrise; daytrips on Great River Road; grilling and dining on the patio while watching the River; entertaining in the lovely kitchen all year around. Watching the River and movies at the same time. The architecture and furnishings of the cottage. Beautiful flowers, fall colors, birds. No intrusive neighbors.
Guestbook comments from the owner
Swan watching was a success. We had a great time here. Looked in your guest book and found out that my sister and husband stayed here! A Family House here on the River--full of lightness and laughter. A very good place.
