Fantastic Family Vacation
Review Submitted: April 11, 2008
Date of Stay: March 2008
Our family stayed in this unit for 10 days in March 2008. We found the unit exactly as described online. It was clean, comfortable, spacious and very nicely decorated. We loved the closet full of beach items (chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, cooler, beach towels and sand toys for the kids). You can see the beautiful ocean from the lanai, we even saw whales. The complex is quiet and very well maintained and features palm trees, flowers and a variety of happily singing birds. Our only disappointment was the beach. Although close, it is not really a swim beach. But you are on a fantastic island with amazing beaches nearby so we won't complain too much. We did walk along the beach at night and you have a great place to watch the sun set. We actually did some research and spent our beach days at some of the smaller and lesser known beaches. Sometimes there were only 10-20 other people on the whole beach. The location was more than convenient. There is a Star Market just steps away and a very nice Safeway a couple of blocks down the road. We ate at Da Kitchen on S. Kihei Rd and had a fantastic authentic Hawaiian lunch plate. Great pork and teriyaki chicken. Yum. We also tried Fred's Mexican restaurant and found it to be very tasty. Whale watching with the Pacific Whale Foundation was amazing. If you are in Maui during whale season we highly recommend them. Very knowledgeable crew and not expensive. We saw many, many whales. On our last day we enjoyed the Haleakala Zip Line. Again the crew were fun, energetic people, making a very exciting day even better. If you are thinking about visiting Hawaii, Maui is a slam dunk. We visited the Big Island and Ohua during this trip and found that for our wants Maui was superior. With many great memories we would like to thank Melanie and Dale, the owners. They answered all of our questions in a friendly and timely manner. Their customer service was five-star! There are many place you can stay on Maui but with our budget and for the activities we knew we wanted to do this condo was just what we were looking for. They have done a great job making this unit feel like a home away from home. Mahalo!!
Owner's Response: We are pleased you enjoyed your first visit to Maui and mahalo for your kind review.
Waiohuli Beach is in a nice quiet area with great sand to walk on and is just minutes away from our door which does make it very convenient for those great walks along the ocean! Although you will see some swimmers here, Kama'ole Beaches 1, 11 and 111 are located just down the road.
We encourage guests to explore all the beautiful and different beaches Maui has to offer!
Aloha!
