We live in a charming 19th century farm house on the coast of Maine. We have a view of the water from the front of the house where there is access to a rocky beach, sea caves and kayaking. Our back yard is rich with apple trees, blueberry bushes, and blackberry brambles. In the house there are three bedrooms, including a fully renovated master bedroom, a full bathroom upstairs with a great claw-foot tub, a fully renovated downstairs bathroom which includes a very large, mosaic tiled shower with two shower heads and a door leading to a fieldstone and cedar outdoor shower, a beautifully renovated kitchen including a built in breakfast booth, and cozy sitting area, all stainless steel appliances and three full walls of windows looking out to the water, side yard and back yard and patio, dining room, two living rooms-one facing the water side of the house, and one facing the backyard, and a gorgeous fieldstone patio with outdoor grilling dining and a cozy bistro nook.

Bar Harbor Maine is located on Mount Desert Island which is the home to Acadia National Park. This is one of the most beautiful and popular spots in the whole country. People visit Bar Harbor from all over the world and though the village can be quite crowded in the month of August, our house is located 5 miles down the road and feels quite serene even in the busiest months. For further information on the Park, the Internet has lots of information. Activities in and around the park include hiking, biking, swimming, sailing and kayaking, **Whale Watching** (lots of whales in the summer) , rock climbing, canoeing, bird watching and lots more!

Great home for families traveling together

We had a wonderful stay at this spacious, lovely, well-maintained home close to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Our group included 6 adults and 3 young children (ages 4, 2 and 9 months) and the accommodations were perfect for our three families. There was plenty of room for us all and we enjoyed the patio, grill, swingset, children's toys and games, blueberry bushes, and nice yard for the kids to run around in. With young children it was also very helpful to have a washer and dryer and nice tub for baths. The owner was very helpful and kind in answering all of our questions before our arrival and we would highly recommend this rental home to others, especially families traveling together.

Wonderful Maine retreat

Our family including 2 children ages 11, 12 had a wonderful stay in this charming, inviting home. The home and pictures were accurately described. We appreciated the warm colors, tasteful design and comfortable furnishings. Our children loved picking blueberries and playing the piano. There was plenty of space and sitting areas to curl up and read on a rainy Maine day.

We had no trouble finding and accessing the home. The property manager was responsive and attentive in quickly getting an appliance repaired.

We would recommend this home to anyone!

Even in rainy weather such a great place to be

It was the best place ever we rented so far. Even with a very rainy period of weather, the house was just great, had a lot of space to host at least 5 people and up.

Unreliable local contacts

The house was clean and beautiful but the local contact was unreliable.
We had to wait outside the house from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm since the local contact was not available on any of the contact numbers and we had no idea that the back door was left open for us. We got to know that only when the owner finally called back at 9. We had 2 small babies with us and were about to look for a motel. That was too much stress at 11th hour. The fact that the house will be open was mentioned somewhere in one of the contract documents which nobody really reads.

We were given an explanation that since the local contact also has a kid and is pregnant she could not be contacted. I am glad we did not have an real emergency during our stay as the local contact would not have been available in that case too.

I do not recommend this place for people with kids or elderly.
