Located on Peaks Island, Maine, the Treehouse is the perfect place to get away from it all. Hop (or drive) on the Casco Bay Line Ferry from the famed Old Port of Portland, Maine and minutes later you will be stepping onto Peaks Island. The Treehouse is a short walk from the ferry dock, located in a quiet part of town. It is close to everything, but offers a place of restful solitude where the breezes blow through the maples & oaks the house was named for. The Treehouse is a fun and informal house with two plus bedrooms, two additional futon sofas, a bath and a half, and all the amenities you could wish for: VCR, DVD, TV, Wireless Internet, phone, W&D, DW, charcoal grill, an outside deck and fenced in yard. We invite you to bring your well behaved dog (with deposit), but must regretfully ask that you leave your cats at home. Available by the week during summer, by the day( 2-day min.) or week fall & spring, winter by special arrangement.

No car necessary!: The Treehouse is located about a half-mile from the ferry dock on Peaks Island. Since it is within easy walking distance of the ferry, there is no need to bring a car over unless you wish to. There is a parking garage located at the ferry dock in Portland, where you may leave your car. The grocery store, restaurants, beaches, library, indeed all of the island, are easy to walk to - or you can rent bicycles on the island.

Susan and Tony have a really comfortable and cozy house. We love the Island , and got the medicine we needed to come back to the city.
The house had everything we needed. The location is perfect.
The setting was quit . What else could we ask for. We will be going back!

This house was an excellent choice for me. It was in a great location for walking down front to the shops & ferry, but tucked back in a private, wooded lot. The house is well maintained & is a nice layout--cozy but not cramped. There is definitely enough space to spread out & not feel on top of one another. It is a great choice for families &/or friends. I Love Peaks & had a hard time leaving Susan & Tony's lovely home. They are extremely accomodating & gracious. You will feel at home the minute you walk through the door.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Families with Young Children

Susan and Tony, your cottage was perfect for total relaxation and cozy comfort. It provided a very special gathering place for good friends who needed catch-up time.
The house was fully equipped and very clean. Great location in the woods near trails to hike over to the back shore and a close to "town" for groceries, the ferry and bike rental. The people of Peaks Island are so warm and friendly. Thank you!!!!!!
