Our home is located on a quiet country road off Route 100, which 'has been called the most scenic in New England' by Yankee magazine writer Michael Blanding. Let's not forget Stratton, which is only 15 minutes from our door!

In summer, there are three spectacular meteor showers that can be viewed from our lawn, which surrounds our home: July 28-29 The Delta Aquarids - predawn, about 20 bright-yellow meteors occur per hour. Look for meteors to fan out east, north and west. July 29-30 The Capricornids - known for producing brilliant fireballs. It's best to observe right after sunset. If you can see the Milky Way, you'll probably be able to see this shower. August 12-13 The Perseids - look toward the constellation Perseus (about halfway above the horizon in the northeast quadrant of the sky) in the late evening. Recline with your feet facing south and look straight up. The Perseids should appear over your left shoulder...you could see 60 meteors in an hour.

We had a great time and truly hated to leave. The house is beautiful and bright and we found it impeccably clean. The house is very well equipped - you thought of everything to make guests feel at home.
We live in an older house with less open-space so we loved the spacious kitchen/living room and enjoyed cooking together without bumping into one another! Our boys share a bathroom at home and LOVED having a "suite" all to themselves (they're identical twins, so they've had to share a lot! ) And the master bedroom/bathroom is exceptional. In all, it's a great house and we loved everything about it.
We hiked on the trail at the end of your road, walked to The Pantry, enjoyed watching the chickens, horses, and Shetland pony across the street. We hiked Bromley, rode bikes, and splashed a bit in the river. We loved hearing the sound of the river from every room .
Thank you for the pancake mix and local maple syrup - they were delicious. And, what a surprise to find the pink neckerchief for Snickers! She's a sweet but rather funny, happy- go-lucky dog and we all had a great laugh seeing her wear something pink and girly! Thank you for thinking of her.
Thanks for everything - I hope we'll return someday.
Fall is here and the foliage is lovely!
