Nestled between the Deerfield River and the mountains, just beyond the Bissell covered bridege on rural Route 8A, minutes to Berkshire East Ski Area, historic Charlemont Center, Zoar Outdoor rafting, and the Mohawk Trail State Forest. Enjoy winter skiing, summer rafting, zip-rides, fishing, hiking, leaf-peeping, sight-seeing in and around scenic Charlemont. Also nearby are Crab Apple Whitewater rafting, Shelburne Falls (Bridge of Flowers, glass blowing, galleries, potholes by Salmon Falls), North Adams (MassMoCA, Mount Greylock), and Williamstown (Williams College, Clark Institute of Art). Charlemont, MA is located on the historic Mohawk Trail, which runs along the Deerfield River. In fall and summer whitewater rafting, kayaking, tubing, and fishing are available on the Deerfield and nearby Cold River, which runs through the Mohawk Trail State Forest. The Forest offers opportunities for hiking, climbing, and leaf-peeping. Charlemont is home to the Berkshire East Ski Area, which has 45 trails and 5 lifts for downhill and cross-country skiing, makes snow if necessary. In summer, Berkshire East and Zoar Outdoors both offer zip rides. Charlemont is close to historic Shelburne Falls, North Adams, and Williamstown, all located on the Mohawk Trail, and just south of the Vermont border.

To be honest, I was a little skeptical about the size of this house. But we were taken aback when we arrived! The outside could use some maintenance but the inside was immaculate and cozy, yet big enough to sleep our party. Reservation was convenient and Kathe was very detailed with all the instructions that you would ever need for the duration of your stay. The neighbors are few but very friendly! Would stay at the house again if we are ever in the area.

The description regarding the location of the property was accurate. It was clean and well maintained. The place I was looking for with lots of trees, private and with a beautiful view from the rear deck. I will recommend this place to anyone who's looking for a tranquil setting with natural sounds surrounding you.
Activities: hiking, bird watching ,sightseeing. I enjoyed the outdoors.Loui
