Mill Brook House is an awesome place to stay!

  • 5 of 5
We truly felt at home. A beautiful house and plenty of space for our family. Everything was clean and the beds were made up and ready to go. We enjoyed the quiet, snow covered setting and had fun sharing home cooked meals and watching classic films that they provided. The Mill Brook House is also perfectly located near the Berkshire East Ski Resort where we enjoyed a week of skiing with our children. We definitely recommend this property and hope to stay there again next year.

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5
This farmhouse offered all the modern amenities - everything was clean, it had a comfortable bed, big bathroom, microwave, washer and dryer, etc. - without losing the feel of another time. My favorite thing was the kitchen with the old enamel sink and table! If you are looking for something different, this is it!

Rural Solitude in Western MA Hills

  • 5 of 5
Mill Brook House is a quiet, restful getaway for a couple or a family. The house is nicely renovated (living room, dining room and a bright, sunny kitchen). The homeowners were prompt in responding to questions, easygoing, and provided a very clean and comfortable getaway. Charlemont is a quiet, rural community in Franklin County. Mill Brook House is a very quiet location on a rural road. We did a 20-plus mide loop ride directly from the house which provided some great uphills and downhills. Charlemont is in the Deerfield River watershed and has great access to the river and related streams for fishing. It’s close to Shelburne Falls (Bridge of Flowers) and some great restaurants for a night out after enjoying the peace and solitude. My wife and I would come back by ourselves or bring our young kids with us.

Delightful area, cozy house

  • 4 of 5
I rented this home to convene with several friends for a long weekend. We're all writers, so we anticipated doing a bit of everything--discussing our work, perhaps taking time to write or read, exploring the area, doing outdoorsy stuff, making a few good meals for each other. While we didn't get to do everything on that list, this house is an excellent site for any and all of them. The reservation process was a breeze and the owner was very accommodating of our desire for a long weekend as opposed to a Friday through Sunday or a week-long rental. The property was just as the owner described it and then some: a well-appointed kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, warm, attractive furnishings, a wonderful deck off the kitchen... it was a great retreat. And no one in our party had ever been to the Berkshires before--what a wonderful area! We definitely plan to come back, whether for skiing, kayaking, hiking, to take in the arts in the area, or just to relax. I highly recommend this property to others.

Quiet retreat surrounded by State parks

  • 4 of 5
We really enjoyed our stay at the Mill Brook House this past August. We had beautiful weather--warm during the day and nice and chilly over night--and cooked some amazing fresh meals with all the herbs in the owner's herb garden (she invited us to use them)! During the days, we explored Western Mass, including Williamstown, North Adams, Amherst, and of course Shelbourne Falls--all of which are an easy and scenic drive away.

The House itself is well-furnished and charmingly rustic. Our dog loved running around the fenced-in back yard off of the large back deck.

The new covered bridge--a stone's throw from the house--is really a gem! A great place for trout fisherman too, as there are some amazing trout streams tucked away in the nearby state parks.

Surprisingly Cozy

  • 4 of 5
To be honest, I was a little skeptical about the size of this house. But we were taken aback when we arrived! The outside could use some maintenance but the inside was immaculate and cozy, yet big enough to sleep our party. Reservation was convenient and Kathe was very detailed with all the instructions that you would ever need for the duration of your stay. The neighbors are few but very friendly! Would stay at the house again if we are ever in the area.
