We enjoyed our two weeks with our hosts Mike and Vika. As well, the Hales and outdoor kitchen were a treat. A car is a definite must. It was the perfect place for us. We will definitely rebook here when we return.
The perfect place for two couples who were in search of rest quiet and privacy.we spent a perfect time watching the sunsets and the stars.all amenities are provided,as far as a blender but no microwave.mosquito nets everywhere, big showers.our guests were really friendly and they gave us delicious coffee beans ..peace and comforts..what else do you need on a holiday?reccomended.
Our family chose this amazing place by accident since we were interested in another VRBO listing which was already booked for the dates we needed. The minute we drove down the road to reach our cottage we immediately knew we made the right choice! All the flowers, birds and the peaceful setting made this the perfect vacation spot. Not only are you surrounded by the coffee farm but the views from every spot on the property are breathtaking. Who could complain about doing dishes when the view of the bay is right there! And the coffee beans that Mike and Vika have ready for you on the kitchen counter from their farm are just waiting to be brewed! They were such wonderful hosts and made you feel like you were part of their family. We are so glad we got to experience the Big Island on the side of a beautiful ridge with all the snorkeling areas just a short distance drive - and so many to choose from. Leaving the hustle and bustle of a hotel/motel to other travelers, this was the best choice for us. You will not have any trouble relaxing and sleeping here - the sounds of the birds and the chirping geckos is all you have to worry about. We will definitely be back!
We had such an amazing time here. We loved spending time in the open kitchen and on the porches and also loved the location of the cottage. There is so much to do nearby and yet you still feel as though you are in a secluded little oasis. We were so sad to leave this place and found it very difficult to fall asleep our first night back home without the sound of the frogs and birds.
I think this was one of my favorite rentals of all time!(I actually hesitate to write a review though, because I don't want it to become so popular that it is booked when I come back...) The location and set up are just amazing for those of us who enjoy nature and being in it. We loved preparing meals in the outdoor kitchen, hearing rain on the roof at night, reading on the porch, and hiking through the coffee and fruit orchards. The owners are wonderful and have done an excellent job at having everything you might need for a wonderful stay (including eggs from their chickens). If you are looking for a resort atmosphere though, go into town, as this place is way too special for your kind. In January it was cool at night in the cabins, so have some layers ready, but hearing the ocean below is pretty incredible. We decided it was the best of "glamping" with a view!
Very nice rental located in a scenic area. Preparing meals in the outdoor kitchen with a beautiful view of sunrises and sunsets was fantastic. Enjoyed taking walks throughout the property and seeing the tropical flora and fauna. We really enjoyed The Coffee shack and Annie's for eating out. Greenwell Farm offers an excellent free tour of their coffee farm with free samples of different Kona Coffee. Walking along Ali'i Drive in Kona for shopping, restaurants and beaches should not be missed. Also check out the farmers markets in the area for fruits, vegetables etc. The Volcano National Park in the evening to see the glow is beautiful. The Black Sand Beach and the bakery at Punalu'u are worth a visit. A kayak snorkel tour to Kealakekua bay in the morning is a must do. Also be sure to go to the City of Refuge and snorkel at Two Step. Mike and Vika were nice hosts. They provided us with fresh fruits, kona coffee, wine and mai tai's as well as valuable information of the area. We would definitely recommend this vacation rental to anybody and are looking forward to returning someday. Mahalo Mike and Vika. Aloha, John & Laurie
