The beach and shallow water at the property edge is really great fun for dogs to play as their feet can touch the bottom for quite a way out. Fish, waterski, swim, the lake is perfect for all. The whole family along with our dogs, have wonderful memories at the cottage. We enjoyed many fantastic campfires at the waters edge and some great BBQ's while enjoying the outdoors in Northern Michigan. We took many trail rides on dirt bikes and hikes along the many trails and rivers located minutes away. When the time came we experienced some fantastic bird hunting in state land while the fall colors took hold.
Steve purchased this cottage in 1993
Why Steve chose Kalkaska
Easy drive from Southern Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. The location is centrally located, and close to some very nice towns.
What makes this cottage unique
There are many, but for starters. The lake is big and not congested. The walleye fishing is very good, thousands of fish planted recently, along with the ability for doing about all of the water sports.
There is a fire pit at the waters edge, where you can watch the sunsets while roasting marshmellows.
Next, the very close proximity to many trails for offroading, biking and hiking etc.
Then there are some beautiful rivers that are not very far away. They offer excellent fly fishing and canoeing.
In the fall there is hunting for deer and birds on many square miles of state land not to far away.
I could keep going!!!
