There are no downhill skiing areas in Berrien County. These two ski areas are approximately 1 hour from Harbor Country.

Madeline Bertrand Park (Outside of Harbor Country) 3 miles of trails-groomed and electrically lit. Night skiing on Friday and Saturday. Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe Rental available every day but Monday and Tuesday. 269-683-8280.

Love Creek (Outside of Harbor Country) 6 miles of trails-groomed and lighted. Night skiing on Saturday nights. Cross Country Ski Rental available every day but Monday.

The White House was very comfortable, clean, spacious and charming. It was a short walk to the beach (10-15 minutes). There were so many different rooms you could escape for quiet time or enjoy the patio, screened in porch for games and fun. We were all able to fit around the dining room table for family meals. It was close to Bud & Elsie's (convienent store) for whatever you needed. The upstairs bedrooms would get a little warm but rooms had fans so you were comfortable, except the small room had no outlet that we could find. House was well equiped with pots,pans,bowls etc... last but not least, the Train... was alittle loud.. some had a difficult time, I heard 1 out of 4 trains at night. Thank goodness for watermelon margaritas!! All n all, I would highly recommend for a large group of people.

Great Girls weekend!

We stayed at the White House in May for a girls weekend with 7 women.We had a wonderful time.The house is very large and comfortable.We loved sitting in the Florida Room in the morning and drinking our coffee.The patio outside was great for bonfires and wine.The house was very close to a beautiful beach which I walked to every morning with my dog.The home is very close to many wineries and the city of New Buffalo which is a great little town.It is very convenient that a diner and little grocery store is right across the street.Great house we will be back.Owner is a pleasure to work with.

July 4th at the beach

This party of 9 adults and 4 young children had a great time at this property. There was plenty of room for sleeping, playing, and eating! The backyard was enjoyable and allowed us to appreciate the summer evenings while we created and ate some smores! The kids loved the play/game room.. they could not have enough of that air hockey table. Although that room was not air conditioned, it was not too uncomfortable as we used that room quite often. Also, the movie/DVD selection was pretty good (at least for the adults). The bedrooms upstairs were on the warmer side but every room had a large fan so the evenings were comfortable. There were also plenty of beach accessories available to us which was much appreciated! There were some minor downsides (thus the 4 star rating). We wished the kitchen had a grill utensil set handy but we could not find one. The property is right off a railroad line so we would get an occasional (2-3 times/day) metra train passing by. It was loud but not long lasting and it didn't really bother us very much. Also, to get to the beach (which is a walking distance!!) you have to cross Red Arrow highway. There is no stop sign or traffic light at the intersection so it makes it for an "exciting" crossing sometimes. That said, there is a small grocery store across the road which is very convenient. In all, we would certainly return and thus not hesitate to recommend the place to others!

Wonderful Memories

Such a great house for a family reunion and being able to just have a wonderful time with some great memories. This house is very clean and charming. You feel right at home and feel being placed back in time since the house is older, it was great! Would highly recommend it and the owner is very nice to work with very pleasant! We had such a awesome time being there!
