The Cottage at the Rookery is brand new and completely furnished in cottage chic style, decorated with care and love to be clean and fresh when you arrive. Snowbirds welcome. Located across the street from the beach, it's 0.4 miles to the beach. The development has a huge pool with an extended shallow end, and an outdoor Jacuzzi. It is located at mile marker 6, which is 17 miles down Fort Morgan Road from Gulf Shores. Master bedroom and second bedroom feature queen size beds, third bedroom/den has full size sofa sleeper. The living room sofa makes a queen size bed. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, dishwasher and ice maker. There is a washer and dryer. The Rookery was designed to be a natural and quiet resort and is located adjacent to the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge. There are several golf courses, restaurants, and a marina near by.

The Rookery was designed to be a natural quiet resort and is located adjacent to the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge. There are several golf courses near by and this unit is only 17 miles from Gulf Shores, without any of the traffic and crowds. A marina, boat dock and restaurants are nearby. Alabama's Gulf Coast offers a wonderful variety of inshore and offshore saltwater fishing. Driving west from Gulf Shores along Fort Morgan Road brings you to the end of the peninsula, where Fort Morgan stands guard to the mouth of Mobile Bay along with its sister, Fort Gaines on Dauphin Island, a ferry-ride away. You can also visit the Estuary located on Dauphin Island, or the Gulf Coast Zoo in Gulf Shores. Waterville is a water park in Gulf Shores, while The Track offers amusement park rides & an arcade. At the Rookery you will also find nature trails, tennis courts, a barbecue area, as well as a bike path. A short drive to Foley offers the Tanger Outlet, a large outlet mall.

  • Stay on the gulf coast for $100/ night during peak season in a charming 3 bedroom coastal cottage.
  • April 1-Aug. 31 rates are $100/night plus a $100 cleaning fee. Sept. 1-March 31 rates are $90/night plus a $100 cleaning fee. All rates include taxes. Long term rentals are accepted Sept. 1-March 31. Rates for long term rentals are $995 if renter pays the utilities, or $1200 if owner pays the utilities. The parking fee is $25. No smoking and no pets.

Notes: Pets are not allowed by home owner's renter rules. We ask that you not smoke please. You must be 21 years or older to rent this cottage. This is a family area and it remains quiet at night. No glass in the pool area please. Children should be supervised at all times. This is a wildlife area; you could see a small alligator in one of the on site ponds. 2006 Annual National Shrimp Festival Information - Thursday, October 12, 2006 Sunday, October 15, 2006. We like long term renters in the winter months but prefer to rent by the week in summer.

The Rookery, Unit 1201, Lucky Enough: The cottage sleep 8 persons if you use the sofa beds. The arrangement of the bedrooms and two full baths easily would accommodate two couples for the winter months. Share a winter retreat and save money. TV has satellite for all the channels you want. The baths have both showers and tubs. The convenient kitchen features full size stove, refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher, microwave, and garbage disposal. Dishes, cooking utensils, and linens are provided. There is a washer and dryer in the unit. All on one level with easy access to the cottage and safe, lighted parking.

Amenities: The Rookery has a very large zero entry pool just steps away from Lucky Enough. This pool has a hot tub, as well as eight fountains of water which spray into the pool. There is also a smaller, more private pool located at the front of The Rookery. There are nature trails for walking and hiking, as well as a bike path. The public beach is a short walk down Cortez Street.

My family and I had a wonderful week at Lucky Enough and we actually sent our older son and his wife back for a long weekend! A great family vacation spot. Quiet but close to the beach. Beautiful condo and property. We will be going back - soon I hope!

My family and i had a great time staying at this cottage. The beach is accross the hwy and with having stroller and small children we drove accross the street and parked right in front of beach off Cortez st. Worked out great. The cottage had everything we needed. The zero entry pool was awsome at this property and located right behind cottage. Overall i dont think we could find any better. We hope to come back every year! Very nice owners.
