Casita Del Mar consists of two one bedroom one bath beautifully designed casitas. which have been skillfully created in a Mexican tile motif by local craftsmen.
Wake up in the morning to sounds of the waves and a beautiful view of sunrise! We are on the beach and every room has a water view!
Paddle the 2 person Kayak off the shore and maybe even catch breakfast! There is no fee for the Kayak but bring your own fishing gear!
We provide satelite TV and DSL (broadband) internet in the Vista Casita so that you can keep in contact with friends and family at home! For those who would like to get away from the TV and maybe the 'other world' for a vacation - the Playa Casita offers you a hammock, larger library and TV with a DVD player as well as a hard wired DSL connection.
There is a queen size bed as well as a queen size convertable bed in the living room area all of which together can comfortably accomodate up to 4 persons. An armoire is located in the bedroom to fill up with all of the clothes you will not be wearing!

The balcony/patio was designed to take full advantage of a comfortable living style that we enjoy here in southern Baja. Padded lounge chairs will await you. There is roughly 900 sq feet of covered indoor/outdoor living area plus a very large patio! You will find this to be very spacious as compared to most other places you considered renting!
As a guest of ours the following amenaties are available to you: a large private area of the sandy beach plus the use of a two person kayak and paddles. A 'suntaning' area with lounge chairs on the beach.
The view from the front of your casita is just spectacular! In the winter months Humpback and Gray whales pass by enjoying the warmer waters. You can expect some or all of numerous varities of colorful fish, manta rays and porpoise. There is fishing from our beach in front or you can go after the big guys including marlin, sailfish, wahoo, and dorado-(mahi mahi) by chartering a boat. We can help make arraingements for you!
During windsurfing/kiting season (nov-feb) some gear is available to rent in Los Barriles or you can take a kiting lesson at North Beach. We can help you with this too!
There are many other activities in our area that we can help you access or you can just enjoy a relaxful and peaceful vacation! You will be equiped for that just by staying with us at Casita Del Mar!
The casita is on the property of the homeowner yet is very private. It consists of the middle and bottom levels as seen in this picture and extends from one side of the property to the other. The upper level is our home.
This is a truly special place where the rhythm of waves becomes the background music of your vacation! We hope to be able to share it with you!

Anne and I fell in love with Buena Vista & Los Barriles during our first visits 20+ years ago. Now, looking back, we feel even more fortunate to have found such a special place! Our first residence was in Los Barriles. Then in 1998 we had the chance to buy a spectacular lot on the beach in Buena Vista! Seven years later, after selling whatever possible, we jumped into building our dream house Casa del Mar and two casitas, Casitas del Mar. The property was only used by our family until 3 years ago when we opened up to renting the casitas.
I first found this area while exploring for a really good windsurfing place that had warm water and lots of sunshine in the winter! A few years later Anne joined me and we bought our first lot. After moving to the beach we found lots of other interests from kayaking and snorkeling in front to deep sea fishing and protecting turtle nests. Our beach is very wide and, except for times when the winds pick up, is very safe. From April thru October it is more like a big lake!
We hope you will come to discover it yourselves!
We offer some services that others don't such as free calling to the USA & Canada, kayak and beach towels plus hard wired internet access at no additional charge.
The upper casita has a 900 sq ft deck and the lower a large lawn area.
We are in a residential area that appeals to some who want a more restful,or perhaps romantic vacation.
Our beach is all sand!
The casita had everything we needed for a relaxing break away from the busy-ness of a pre-arranged, all-inclusive resort vacation. We've done that, a resort is okay, but the seclusion of small-town Los Barriles is just what we were looking for. We opted not to get a car, but probably will next time...or maybe just a quad, we didn't really need a car. Instead, we had Wolf Management arrange a pick-up for us at the airport. Reasonably priced and friendly, the guys at Turis Pancho were at the airport waiting with a van for just us. We stopped a local mini-mart for a few beverages before we left Los Cabos and they took us to a grocery store in Los Barriles for some more essentials. We met up with Wolf Property folks and they checked us right in. (I forgot about the deposit, but had the cash on me which they refunded in the same cash at check-out.) Los Barriles is tiny, but we weren't here for anything but relaxation. We kept saying we'd go to town and get a car or a quad, but it took us three days to bother to walk all the way into town when a grocery store was an easy walk in a safe neighborhood. It was not a bad walk to town, we just didn't feel like bothering and Wolf said they'd have a car delivered if we wanted. Everyone took dollars at a reasonable exchange, so we didn't get pesos very often either. We'd just walk up the street for whatever sounded good (and for more limes...definitely perfected my margarita recipe...that's one tough blender!) Finally, we did rent a quad for a few days, and never felt the need for a car. The quad allowed us to run to town to eat out. Taqueria Viejo was our favorite, but Barilito was fine and the nachos at Vagos Sports Bar, where we watched the game, were excellent. We didn't go to town for the nightlife; if you want a big party, this isn't your place I've heard, but I never checked for myself. If you want to relax on the beach, kayak at a leisurely pace and snorkle for fun, it's all right here. We aren't fishermen, but did see folks fishing from the beach or from small boats. We loved the privacy, the beach was always clean and quiet. The noisiest thing was the quads, but they're just not that bothersome when you're relaxing on the beach. We loved our time in Los Barriles and at the casita!!
Location is important. This casita is right on the beach. So you can easily walk out to the ocean. The view is wonderful from the Patio. Great value for the money. The double kayak that comes with the rental made for a fun daily activity. The Casita is simply decorated but the most important part is that bed is comfortable. We rented Mountain Bikes in town and found some dirt roads with little traffic. The town nearby is small. There are some authentic restaurants. Great spot for a quiet get a way.
If you are looking for a spectacular beach location in Baja California, but you don't want Cabo, this is your place. The Playa Casita is just as advertised, as the listing description and photos are very accurate. The casita was spanking clean and, while simply furnished, had everything we wanted for our stay. While we only stayed a week (we would choose to stay much longer next time) that would be true with a longer stay also. Wolf Management was very responsive and helpful, even making our car rental reservation and fishing guide arrangements for us. We were lucky that the owners were there while we were. They are hands on and helpful with suggestions on fun things to do, restaurants etc. We really enjoyed meeting and talking with them. The kayaks are an added bonus, and we spent quite a bit of time on the water with them. Los Barriles is a short drive or a long walk from the casita. Our favorite restaurant was Campestre Triny. After success fishing, we took our fish to Campestre and they cooked it on the spot. Talk about fresh fish! I would recommend renting a car, although it would certainly be possible to hang out at the casita with plenty to do for a week without a car. We enjoyed going to Cabo Pulmo for the snorkeling and to Santiago for the waterfall and hot springs. These trips required a car. The driving is really quite easy and relatively safe. I highly recommend this place.
My husband and I stayed at this property on the first floor and could not have been more pleased in all that it had to offer. The home was extraordinarily clean, well appointed, quiet, and offered the most beautiful beach front sun rises that you could ask for. The location was perfect in offering a quiet and secluded beach front area; however, it was also only a few minute drive to town for those nights when we were looking for an evening out on the town in Los Barriles. Despite the winter wind letting us down a bit for kite surfing, we still had the most amazing trip we could have asked for. The property had everything that we were looking for and more. Most mornings began with a short walk to the water for the most beautiful sunrise stand up paddle board sessions that anyone could ever ask for. The property also has two kayaks for those who enjoy kayaking and may be hoping to not spend extra on water sport rental costs. The location is also fantastic for day trips both South and/or North for those looking for a bit more of adventure. We were lucky enough to enjoy many dirt road excursions to secluded beaches, mountain biking in the old mining towns just North, surfing at Shipwrecks, and kite surfing just outside of the property when the wind permitted. Everything was perfect from check in to check out and would we would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect beach getaway. We are already counting the days until we can come back and enjoy all that this perfect property has to offer!
We stayed a week at the end of February, and LOVED it! We hated to leave! Morning sunrise was spectacular!
We were very happy with Wolf Property mgmt. too. They met us at their office on a Sunday evening, gave us all necessary information, then took us to the property to show us around. It was nice to not have any surprises, except pleasant ones!
We used the kayaks quite a bit. One day I went out quite far- you could hear the whales breathing as they surfaced even though they weren't that close. Also had rays jumping nearby. When we got tired of that we went swimming, and just enjoyed the sunshine!
Most people use quads for transportation in Los Barriles so we rented one for a few days. It made the car redundant but was a lot more fun, and a great way to explore the beaches.
We booked a fishing charter through East Cape tackle. Really nice people, and we had a great time on our charter. Rates were quite reasonable for the charter and it was nice to be able to bring some fish home to eat at the casita.
Los Barriles was a great place! I avoid Mexico tourist areas where you are inundated with time share pitches and beach peddlers selling trinkets. Los Barriles was PERFECT for that! As soon as we got out of the San Jose airport, and into our rental car heading up, we were able to relax, and stayed that way until we left. Great feel to the town.
Overall we had a fantastic time. Will definitely go back for some sun.
We had a wonderful, relaxing 2 weeks in Los Barriles at Vista Casita! We will be back again! It is all that is described here and more - very comfortable, beautiful view, gorgeous beach and the lovely little town nearby. We only rented a car for a couple of days to do some exploring but the rest of the time we walked into Los Barriles either along the beach or by the (mostly) quiet back roads which would take us about 25 min at a leisurely pace. If we had a lot of groceries or it was dark after eating dinner out we would catch a taxi in town for the way back home - approx $10. We took the kayak out a few times which was lovely and easier than I thought it would be - the 'ride on top' kayaks are very stable. It was a bit windy at that time of year which made the ocean choppy for kayaking some days but great for watching the kite surfers! The main grocery store was very well stocked with 'Gringo' foods as well as Mexican. We booked our pick-up and return to the airport in Los Cabos through Wolf Management which worked out very well. Wolf Management were very helpful in general during our stay. It was nice that we got to meet Tim and Anne for a few days while we were there - and they had some good suggestions like the going to the 'open mic' night in town to enjoy the locals play music. The rest of the time we had the place to ourselves. Very peaceful! Breakfast at Caleb's is a must! Thanks Tim and Anne!
