'Get away to nature without roughing it!'
Your remedy for relaxation and adventure in an unspoiled natural setting. This 35 acre fenced and gated lodge, is offered for your exclusive use for a party of up to 12. Pet friendly. Perfect for group travel.
Groceries and Shopping: At the middle section of the Eleven Mile Reservoir, approximately 5 minutes from the lodge. is the closet store, 11 Mile General Store.
The closest town for major groceries, shopping, dining, gifts is Woodland Park, located approximately 30 minutes from the lodge on Hwy 24. Woodland Park is a mid-sized town, with doctors, emergency clinics, veterinary care , major grocery chains, hardware stores, gift shops, restaurants and more. Scattered between Lake George and Woodland Park is the towns of Divide (large general store and several shops) and Florissant offering convenience stores, gas, trading posts and small gift shops.
About the Lodge: The lodge is located 'off the electrical grid', exactly what does that mean for us as renters? The lodge makes it's own electricity via solar panels, and wind turbines. For the most part, these two avenues create enough electricity to run the lodge. However, during lengthy periods of overcast days and low wind times, the automatic propane generator would kick in to replenish power reserves. You will probably never know that this happened. You will have non interrupted electrical supply just like any other house. The Power Source is located in the rear of the lodge away from main outdoor areas.
We have professional property managers who live close by in our neighboring town Hartsel. They are quite efficient and can answer all your questions, and will take care of any needs that may arise in a timely manner.
The lodge has provided you with two animal proof outside garbage containers.
Frequently Asked Questions: **What type of pet facility do you have? Located in the rear of the lodge is a huge dog kennel, suitable for larger dogs. We highly recommend you do not bring small pets and leave them unattended outside. There is abundant wildlife in the area, including coyotes, and the safety of your pet is an issue. The dog kennel is not suitable for small dogs.
**Where can we rent a boat or boat slip, or hire a guide for trolling on the lake? 11 Mile Marina. The marina offers boat rental, boat slips, complete outfitting and professional guide services. 11 Mile Sports and Marina is located just opposite the ranger station for Eleven Mile State Park, approximately six minutes from the lodge.
**Where can we fly fish? Directly in front of the lodge is an access to the South Platte River, also known as the Dream Stream. This part of the the river is designated Gold Medal Waters. Huge trout are caught on the Dream Stream year round. As we are dog lovers, your pet is allowed inside.
I have been to the 'DSL' numerous times with my family....sometimes joined by a couple of friends, sometimes just with our two dogs.
If you decided to "do nothing" at this great location of doing many things, you would still find yourself completely satisfied staring out the floor-to-ceiling windows in the Great Room at either 11 Mile Reservoir, literally a walk away or across the valley toward Spinney. The large and comfortable furniture makes 'enjoying the views' that much better.
And the same thing at night.... you can star gaze from inside or exit one of the three doors to the wraparound deck to check them out.
The other thing that rates highly with me is that I still do not know of a more dog friendly rental than the DSL. In a large roomy house, on 35 acres of remote property (with a fenced in run larger than most Denver suburb yards) you don't have to worry about your dog getting hit by a car or getting out of sight (though there is dirt road down the long driveway and then down the private road entrance).
Of course the Dream Stream / Charlie Meyers SWA is right out the door...walk to the 11 Mile inlet or drive 5 minutes to one of the parking lots.
And visiting 11 Mile is a great family outing even if not on the water with easy hiking, lots of rock scrambling and ample opportunity to picnic.
If you value privacy in a remote setting, The Dream Stream Lodge is certainly worth checking out.
Pam has been great with each visit with good communication, answering my questions, along with an easy and no hassle rental agreement (no nickel and diming for the dogs like most other places!)
We had a positive blast at the Dream Stream Lodge! There
were 10 of us, from different parts of the country that met
for a mini- family reunion. The home was spacious and airy,
very well cared for and the views were spectacular. There is
nothing the owner’s did not think of to provide. With the 25
chest of drawers with everything from brochures to writing
utensils, cards, batteries etc, to the fully equipped kitchen
with even paper products and spices …. We had everything we
needed. The beds were all oh so comfy, and the layout of the
home was perfect. We went site seeing every day, and never
ran out of things to do or see. Such as fishing, visiting Royal
Gorge, Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, horse back riding, and
even went to the hot springs. Being so centrally located we
especially loved that it was less than an hour in every direction
to take in all the area attractions. My daughter loved the wild
donkeys that we fed from the car window, as well as the herds
of antelope and elk, we even saw the black bear with her baby
up by the tree line. Thanks Pam and Drew for sharing your
wonderful home with us! This is our third visit to the lodge and
we will definitely be back again this year.

We stayed at the Dream Stream Lodge for a wonderful week and just got back. I think the owners have worked very hard to try to think of all the different items for this house! We've rented other homes in other areas of the US and this is the first time items like dish soap, dishwasher soap, trash bags, paper towels, some spices, etc. were provided for our use! We truly loved that we didn't have to purchase a lot of these necessary items...
The tub in the master bath is so comfortable and spacious that I wanted to bring it home with me! There was plenty of space in the home for our family, and the wall of windows had the most beautiful views!
Our personal favorite thing about being out there were the wild donkeys that are by the road... They are so very friendly and sweet but if you don't want to mess with them, they leave you alone. Lots of beautiful babies and my kids loved petting them! The other wildlife (pronghorn, cows, horses, deer, bucks, prairie dogs, birds, etc.) was incredible! I even had a hummingbird fly right up to me to investigate!
It's definitely 'out of the way' but I loved the lack of neighbors, and I rarely saw another person except down on the road in passing. Overall, excellent home to rent and we're so glad we did! Thanks!!!
The Dream Stream Lodge was perfect for our two families to relax and enjoy each other's company. The lodge had all the amenities, plenty of beds for 6 kids and 4 adults. There was so much wildlife right there in our area. We enjoyed Bon Fires and peace and quiet. It was a great get away from the city. We appreciated having laundry and kitchen amenities so we had less to pack.
Only draw back is if you want to do sight seeing, it's at least an hour drive to everything, including groceries.
We loved our stay at the lodge and will remember our vacation in Colorado forever.
While area water holes are renowned, birders and astrologists will love this location. With no light pollution, wildlife and star viewing is exceptional.
