This Vista del Mar Condominium is on a quiet, private beach road on Half Moon Bay, between Akumal Bay and Yal-ku Lagoon. It is located on the absolute sandy beachfront with world class snorkeling just steps away. Our condominium is spacious, very light, and really comfortable. Rates include daily maid service, central air conditioning, an in-room safe, purified drinking water, TV, and free parking. Great for families or two couples. There is a full time staff at the reception desk to assist you with anything you need during your stay with us.

Most visitors fly into Cancun International Airport and arrange in advance to pick up a rental car at the airport. The roads are paved and well traveled. The trip from the airport to Akumal takes about an hour and a half. Buses and taxis, as well as shuttle services are also readily available upon your arrival at the airport. Akumal has a great central location for many day trips.

The Village of Akumal : The unhurried village of Akumal began as a diving resort and remote getaway for discerning travelers. Vista del Mar's rental units and hotel are located on the quiet beach of Half Moon Bay in North Akumal, 75 minutes south of Cancun International Airport. Unlike some of the larger resorts Akumal maintains its charming, relaxed atmosphere, and natural beauty. People return year after year to experience the calm beaches and low key lifestyle that Akumal has to offer.

Area Attractions: A five minute walk from Vista del Mar, Yal-Ku Lagoon is a pristine cenote that is home to a wide variety of sea life. Other activities include kite surfing, jungle walks, marine parks, scuba diving, cave exploring, fishing trips, and turtle watching. Akumal is a good spot from which to take many day trips: visit the ruins of Tulum, Chichen Itza, and Coba, Aktun Chen Caves, Xel-Ha Marine Park, and the Sian Ka'an Biosphere. Playa del Carmen and the island of Cozumel are also popular day trips for shopping and sight seeing.

La Buena Vida Restaurant and Bar: La Buena Vida Restaurant, a favorite open air bar and restaurant, serves drinks and casual lunches on the beach and by the pool. Dinner is served in the dining room upstairs or on the beach. always a festive and fun atmosphere, don't miss Happy Hour from 5-6 pm nightly. After vacationing on the Yucatan Peninsula for the past 13 years, Vista Del Mar is still our favourite place to hang our hats. As newlyweds, we started out in studio rentals and as we added children and friends, we have finally filled the largest of the Vista Del Mar Condos. The 3br,3ba is extremely comfortable and just feels like home to us now. The staff are, as always, helpful and friendly. The food at La Buena Vida (next door) is delicious, as are the margaritas.
If you want a vacation that is completely laid back, with plenty of time in a hammock with a good book, lots of snorkeling, swimming this is the place for you. If you want city life and excitement, probably not. This is still a sleepy Mexican town that just happens to have amazing restaurants, tasteful shops and the most beautiful beaches around.
My only caution is that if you stay at Vista Del Mar, you will probably become an addict to Akumal like my husband and I are. We start getting the shakes around Christmas! Show me a picture of the beach in front of the hotel and I am a gonner! Go there and have fun!
