Six acres of grounds, half mile of river frontage. Wildlife abounds, and birding is excellent. The guest house is comfortable and immaculately maintained. Landscaping is unmatched anywhere in the Durango area. Walk along the river, stop a while at the tee-pee. Enjoy the labyrinth, the croquet and the many private natural picnic spots. This beautiful property is occasionally used for weddings and other group events. Your tranquility is assured. Durango, Colorado and the Four Corners have so much to offer. Avalon Acres is located in the South Animas River Valley near Durango Colorado. We are close to all La Plata county attractions, 12 miles south of Durango with short drives to Ignacio and the Sky Ute Casino, Arbolese and Lake Navajo State Park. Aztec, New Mexico with the Aztec Ruins National Monument. Mesa Verde National Park is about an hour's drive. Ski areas including Purgatory, Telluride, Silverton Mountain and Wolf Creek are all easy day trips. You can also add Trimble Hot Springs and Pagosa Hot Springs to your itinerary while staying at Avalon. We are close to great hunting lands, motorcycle touring roads, and whitewater rivers (one runs through the property). World class sight seeing, hiking and biking nature watching in the Sanjuan National Forest and Weminuche wilderness areas. Fishing nearby includes Lake Vallecito, the Animas & Gold Medal Water San Juan river Avalon, centrally located to just about all local attractions. Please NO Email-Call!
