Nestled in the woods in a quiet neighborhood, this contemporary, architect-designed house butts-up to Acadia National Park. Built and owned by a graphic designer, the house is uniquely and artfully decorated. It is comfortable, homey and contains everything necessary to make your stay a very pleasant one. The living area has a working fireplace and cathedral ceilings with skylights. The grounds display a variety of gardens including organic vegetables, herbs, flowers, shrubs, trees and a meditation bench made out of Deer Isle granite.
The house is located in the middle section of Mount Desert Island which makes it not far to travel anywhere including Acadia National Park. The nearest town is Somesville at the top of Somes Sound, the only fjord in the US. Nearby there are lobster pounds, museums, shopping, art galleries, libraries, antiques, and restaurants. There are also lakes and ponds to kayak, canoe and swim. The ocean and mountains are close by offering many recreational amenities also.
