Brother and Sister owners live a short distance from the house and are involved in the decor and maintenance of this sweet cottage. Managers Holly Berry and Rob Denton live behind the Cottage and work diligently to provide a safe, clean, up to date home for your vacation.
Rob Denton purchased this cottage in 2007
Friends owned the home and wanted to live in downtown Asheville making play dates for their young daughter easier, so we decided to take it over and turn it into a vacation home. Very little work needed to be done since the home was well cared for by our friends.
The cottage has a sweet deck in the trees for relaxing. Also off the master bedroom is a balcony out of the weather to enjoy coffee in the morning. A short walk behind the house and through the woods brings you to Brahma Ridge Event Center for hiking, sitting in the Gazebo or on the pond deck.
Staying here for all of our Christmas break was AWESOME! The 8" of snow on Christmas made our stay magical. Hiking to the Gazebo at night for cocktail was so awesome. The heater kept us toasty while taking in the snowfall & stars. Loved the live Christmas tree, fire pit, deck and woods. Holly, thank you for such a beautiful homey cabin. Wish it was ours! We will cherish the memories of Christmas 2010 at Catwalk Cottage.
I love how close we were to Asheville. Our visit to the Biltmore was the best ever. The house was so relaxing and peaceful.
Our wedding utilized all three cabins that Brahma Ridge has to offer. They were exactly what we were looking for--close to Asheville but still tucked quietly away from the hustle and bustle and much more homely and relaxing than staying in a generic hotel. With multiple cabins spread across the venue, the capability of having immediate family members stay on site during the wedding festivities was truly a great way to come together as one and we thoroughly recommend Brahma Ridge as the perfect venue for the outdoorsy couple. Holly and Rob do an amazing job at making guests feel right at home.
Such a cute little cabin! Very cozy and quaint. Made me want to grab a book and curl up in an armchair whenever I walked inside. This one is close to the Wineberry Lodge as well, which makes it nice if you have a large party needing to stay in reach of one another. Or perfect for returning for an Anniversary getaway.
I had not expected to be able to book a place so close to Christmas at the last minute. But we were able to book the Cat Walk House for two nights before moving in with the kids for a Christmas visit. It was warm, inviting, and perfect for us to create our own space for a little private time between ourselves before the Holiday Hoopla. It is the second time and second season we have been there. The first was in Summer. It almost feels like being in a tree house, the way it looks out into the woods over a bit of a ledge. There are cozy nooks and crannies both inside and outside the house. It is perfect for one or even two couples or a family with older children. There is a trail through the woods that leads eventually to the the main part of Brahma Ridge Event Center, a nice walk. The location is secluded and the house is quiet, but not isolated. It is also dog friendly.
My now mother-in-law and a few other family members stayed in this lovely cottage for our wedding weekend. Beautiful, serene, peaceful, this cottage is an oasis in the mountains. There's a gorgeous upstairs bedroom that opens onto a balcony as well as a "sleeping nook" with a twin bed and a curtain which would be perfect for children or really any one person and then a full bedroom downstairs. Would be very comfortable for 5 people. Cool feel to the place, love the catwalk element. We used it for the groom and his groomsmen to get ready for the wedding as well as his mother and some other relatives sleeping there and it was lovely. Holly and Rob (the owners) are so great - helpful and non-obtrusive, knowledgeable and experienced but laid back. If going for a weekend trip to Asheville, this is not too far away (15-20 minutes to the heart of downtown) and would be absolutely perfect if you're looking for a mountain retreat!
We came into a warm cabin, Christmas tree up and lit and Christmas music playing. It was so warm and cozy, a wonderful way to start a 5 night country Christmas stay. Very cozy, quaint and warm. I could suggest a bit brighter lighting in the kitchen. Not very conducive to cooking, which is what we did every night since we were on a budget. Also...lacking some basic cooking utensils, but we improvised and made the best of it. Also, no cleaning provisions either. You are asked to clean the kitchen when you leave, but must do so with a sponge and water. No broom either. And if you will need foil, plastic bags or plastic wrap... Make sure you bring it! Aside from that... We thoroughly enjoyed our stay over all. Also, the beds were very comfortable and inviting after a day of touring and hiking around. Also very quiet there!! Heard the neighbors dog bark a few times, but never to wake us up.
My husband and I met friends (another couple) at the Catwalk Cabin and had a marvelous time. The fall leaves were spectacular and we also had the thrill of the first snow of the season. The cabin was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed to feel cozy and comfortable during our stay. We thought the mattresses on the beds were exceptional. I would highly recommend this spot to my friends. It was a private setting yet in the midst of several homes nearby. The owners were wonderful and accommodating at every turn. We hope to revisit the Catwalk soon!
