Located atop the hill of the ancient Certosa abbey of Florence, only 4 miles away from the ancient walls of downtown Florence, Villa Berni is the ideal lodging for those who wish to visit the city during the day, and relax by night. Immersed in the green countryside of Florence, Villa Berni is located by the Certosa highway exit, 5 minutes away, in a strategic position to visit the wonderful hills of Tuscany!

This 17th century Florentine villa has been lovingly and elegantly restored at the beginning of 2007 with traditional taste and contemporary comfort.

The four fireplaces, terracotta floors and antique furnishings compliment the history of the villa, while the luxurious linens, modern bathrooms and air conditioning create a relaxing elegance in this tranquil country setting. Amenities also include WIFI Adsl internet, satellite TV, and his private historic Florentine garden.

With (6) bedrooms and (5) bathrooms, the 280 sqM Villa Berni can comfortably accommodate up to 14 people.

On the ground floor there is a well equipped Kitchen, a big living room, a big dining room, a laundry, a double bedroom, a library room and two bathrooms. On the first floor there are four bedrooms with two bathrooms and on the second floor there is the tower of the villa with a bedroom and its private bathroom. From the two windows of the tower bedroom you have an amazing view of the Florence and of the Tuscany countryside!

The Berni family, that lives near the property can help you with everything from planning your day trips and restaurant suggestions.

Infact Villa Berni is in a strategic position to visit all the most beautiful Tuscany places. The villa is near the five Tuscany Unesco heritage sites:

1.Towers of Sangiminiano (30 minutes away from the property by car);

2.Historic centre of Siena (40 minutes away from the property by car);

3.Piazza del Duomo of Pisa (50 minutes away from the property by car);

4.Historic centre of Florence (10-15 minutes away from the property by

car);

5. Historic centre of Lucca (50 minutes away form the property by car).

It's very easy to reach the historic city centre of Florence from our property: infact the nearest bus stop is 2Kms away for the property. In front of the bus stop there is a big FREE parking, where you can park the car and catch the bus for the historic city centre. The bus takes 10-15 minutes to reach the Duomo of Florence.

About The Owner

My name is Alessandro - live in Florence. I manage my properties (I own 4 total) with my wife Arianna and my brother Enrico to the best of our abilities. We are extremely helpful in preparations for your stay, as well as while you will on site. We provide all the information on places to eat and to shop and to visit our special city. We work to assure that our villa will be your home away from home and visit Florence as only a Florentine person can do!

Villa Berni is my grandfather villa, I fully restored the villa in the 2007 year with every amenity and comfort.

The location is great! Infact the villa is near the five Tuscany Unesco heritage sites:

1.Historic centre of Florence (10-15 minutes away from the property by car).

2.Historic centre of Siena (45 minutes away from the property by car);

3.Piazza del Duomo of Pisa (50 minutes away from the property by car);

4.Historic centre of Lucca (60 minutes away from the property by car);

We stayed at Villa Berni for two weeks from June 23-July 7, 2012. There were 8 of us one week and 6 the next. The listing was very accurate. The villa was extremely clean with very large rooms, a well equipped kitchen and a nice courtyard to sit and visit. It had been nicely renovated but still had a historical feeling to it. We found everything we needed there (enjoyed having a safe) and even had a bar-b-que one night.

During our stay we hired Marco, a brother in the family, to drive us daily. He had a very comfortable 8 passenger van. Marco was knowledgeable about the area, polite, a great driver and extremely flexible with our comings/goings. We would recommend this to anyone staying at the villa. It made our trip even more memorable as we did not have to worry about travel routes and parking.

Enrico, another brother, had perfect english and was able to answer our questions and give us suggestions about our day trips (wine tours, meals out in the area, trains to Venice etc.)

The location of the villa to Florence was perfect, 15 minutes by car and still central enough to see the surrounding cities of Pisa, Lucca, Sienna, Lucignano, San Gimignano and Grieve in Chianti.,

We certainly enjoyed our stay and the friendliness of the family and would highly recommend renting this villa.

wonderful villa outside of florence

Our group of 9 stayed at this villa for one week in July. The home was beautiful and is just as it is described in the listing. It was spacious and very authentic with modern amenities. We enjoyed the garden area very much and ate most of our meals outside. Enrico and Marco were very patient and accommodating to our needs. I would highly recommend this property and will have many fond memories of our stay there.

Villa Berni 2010

We stayed at the Berni property for a week in 2010. The house was very charming with plenty of space for our family. We enjoyed our stay and the Berni’s were very welcoming. Everything we needed was at the home. They arranged a car service for traveling in Tuscany and they were excellent tour guides. We also had a meal cooked for us my Mina and it was excellent…one of the best we had in all of Italy on our trip. We highly recommend the property, especially if you will be touring in Tuscany as we did as it is very convenient to the main roads outside Florence. We look forward to staying at the Berni residence again in the future, especially during the summer months.

Girls get away

Just returned from a wonderful week at the Villa. We had 10 women escape their hectic lives in Cleveland and relax in this picturesque villa in the hills of Firenze. The villa itself was more beautiful than the pictures. We loved every detail of the home and especially were thrilled with the modern bathrooms with blow dryers included.
Lady MIna prepared us a meal that was delicious. Enrico served it to us in the lovely garden.
The location was perfect. To get to the bus was a 25 minutes walk down hill and we took cabs home for about 30 euro. This was also a great launching pad for multiple trips to the surrounding sites in Tuscany. We used the recommended driving service which was wonderful.
I have already recommended this lovely villa to friends and family. Thanks to the Berni family for sharing this jewel.

Beautiful Tuscan Villa

We stayed at the Villa Berni for a week in September, 2011. There were six of us, three couples, and we had lots of room inside and out. The villa is beautifully restored, yet retains an old world charm. Alessandro, Enrico and Arianna were very helpful, both in our preparations for the trip and during our stay. The kitchen is very well equipped. We cooked dinner there nearly every night and ate in either the spacious dining room or outside in the beautiful garden. One night Mina cooked us a delicious and authentic Tuscan dinner and delivered it to the villa. It was marvelous! We also enjoyed a wine tour which Alessandro arranged for us.

The villa is located in the countryside yet very close to a bus stop to catch a bus into Florence. That was very convenient for sightseeing in Florence. It is also a great location for a tour of the Tuscan hill towns. We had a marvelous time and wished we could have stayed longer. We hope to return soon.
