Overview

Santa Rosa Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Cottage, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

The Oaks of Olivet on the fringe of the Laguna de Santa Rosa, our six acre paradise, has majestic oak trees, some believed to be over 400 years old. Along with an orchard and large pastures the property also is surrounded by vineyards on two sides. With its address on prestigious Olivet Road, you will be within minutes of 7 award winning wineries. You are in the heart of the famous Russian River Valley, known for the ever popular Pinot Noir.

Just a short 10 minute trip to Sebastopol, 20 minutes to Guerneville and the Armstrong Redwood Forest and 40 minutes to Bodega Bay. Restaurants dot the countryside with gourmet menus typical of this Northern California paradise. Enjoy the country living but drive 15 minutes to be in either the heart of downtown Santa Rosa with it's many shops or travel 20 minutes to Healdsburg with it's quaint character and shop lined town square.

Walk the acreage, view hawks, jack rabbits, foxes and owls. Awake in the morning to hot air balloons floating over the misty morning sky. Sit on the lanai in the evening, sip a glass of wine and view the starry show.

Amenities: Fieldstone gas fireplace, gas barbeque, covered outdoor eating area, outdoor and indoor shower, kitchenette with water cooler, satellite television, dvd player, stereo (outdoor speakers also), cd/dvd library, books, magazines and board games.

About Michelle Olson

We have enjoyed the Oaks of Olivet since 2004 as visitors to Sonoma County. In July of 2010 we made the move from Minnesota to live here full time. We are affordable housing developers and work from our home office. We are on site to make sure our guests have everything they need, but understand that guests call the shots on how much privacy is necessary.

Michelle Olson purchased this cottage in 2004

Why Michelle Olson chose Santa Rosa

We fell in love in San Francisco and then visited wine country. This area was an annual anniversary trip for us after we married. The annual trips turned into quarterly visits to Sonoma and Napa. We truely fell for Sonoma and decided to purchase and make a plan to move here to live full time. Our 10 year plan has now come to fruition. We really love the friendly people in the area and the ease of life in general. The local fresh produce is also a real plus.

What makes this cottage unique

We have 7 award winning wineries on our road. Our property has a full fruit orchard that we share with our guests. We currently have peach, pear, plum, apple, fig and apricots.

Oaks at Olivet

  • 5 of 5

We had a most relaxing weekend at "Rancho Relaxo" and wanted to say thank you. Your cottage there is lovely, comfortable, and more spacious than expected. We slept very well as the beds were very comfortable and all was quiet. Thank you for making up the bed for our son, too. Lots of thoughtful touches throughout, and we enjoyed the artwork and how it was decorated. The plums were delicious, thank you. We enjoyed meeting all your four-legged members (dogs, cats, alpacas, goats). It was truly a pleasure to stay there.

Wine Country Gem

  • 5 of 5

I cannot say enough about the Oaks of Olivet. This gem in the middle of the Russian Valley is a beautiful cottage that lends new meaning to peaceful. The property is a absolute delight. It has all the needed ingredients for a great visit. Property is located within 10 minutes of many great boutique family owned wineries. The hosts are the best we have ever had on VRBO. They go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of, from the wine & cheese upon your arrival to their making sure your trip if going well. They provide great recommendations to wineries, restaurant and other activities in the area. This property is one worth visiting many times. We will be back as often as we can.

idyllic stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time there. It was perfect size for 2. Very quiet and peaceful. The covered Patio was a very quiet restful place to read or just have a nap. We were only there 4 nights & wish we could have stayed longer. Michelle was very nice & helpful with arrangements. The cottage was clean and the little welcome gifts of wine, Apple butter, strawberries, and cucumber were really nice. We would definitely come back again. In fact, this is our first choice for a future visit.
