Watch the skytram overhead as you relax by the creek on the deck or in the new 19 ft swimming pool/ spa that is open year round. You won't be fighting traffic all day to get to your favorite attractions or the Smoky Mountain National Park. Only 1.2 miles from downtown Gatlinburg and the National Park, off Ski Mountain Road, Bear Creek Lodge is a creekside 12-bedroom log sided 5000 square foot chalet that sleeps up to 56 people, with parking for 10 or more cars. (Buses are not able to park here.) All the bedrooms, living room and dining room are each decorated with its own theme. Listen to the gurgling creek from every room in the chalet. The kids will love catching salamanders and skipping stones in this natural mountain creek . Or, they can play on the outdoor fort and swing-set. You can picnic by the creek or relax on the Deck that features the 19ft pool/spa, hot tub, two grills, a large smoker, patio furniture, and a Tiki Bar.

My large family enjoyed our recent reunion at Stephen's Sanctuary. The cabin was clean and well-maintained for its size. If I were the owner, however, I would not try to offer so many little amenities because it is hard to keep them in tip top shape. For instance, the "inside basketball goal toy" is no longer there. The high chair for babies is sitting dormant on the back porch (i.e. broken). I hope I'm not sounding picky--as those are small things. But overall, I'm just thinking that simplicity is best for a cabin as large as Stephen's. If I could rate it 4 1/2, I would because the cabin really served us well. I would gladly make the same choice again.
