Get what you pay for...without being disappointed!

While there were many rental units available at this private condo community, we wanted to do our family vacation (early August) on a budget and so ended up renting this particular 2 bedroom unit. Overall impression, very good value for the money and would recommend it to others looking for a similar vacation rental unit.
The overall community is very well maintained from the lawns, tennis courts, roads etc... and very picturesque. It is very private from the main street (route 112) cutting through Lincoln and North Woodstock. The main drags of both towns are within walking distance, particularly N. Woodstock (< 10 minutes). The only disappointment with the community was the cleanliness of the communal indoor pool. This is likely due to either the fact that people would come from the lake to the pool without showering off, and/or, poor cleaning and water testing of the pool. The kids loved it, but we were a little worried about its somewhat cloudy appearance.
The unit itself was immaculate upon entering and was very spacious for our family of four. Our two children (6 & 9) slept in the "master" bedroom with an ensuite bath, bunk beds and a double bed. They loved the TV in the room. The parent's room was quite nice too, and the beds were all quite comfortable, and also included a TV. Nice quality clean linens, and towels, and furniture that appeared to have been well treated and fairly new.
The nicest part of the unit was the fact its on the ground floor with a walk-out deck to a beautiful view of the Pemi river running behind it. During the week we were there the river rose/fell a few times by up to 3 feet due to rain which kept it interesting to watch.
The kitchen is an open concept to the living and eating area and is just most other rental unit's kitchens...very basic, but again clean with working appliances, and dishes enough to go 2 - 3 meals without needing to run the diswasher (a bonus!).
So, if you're looking for a budget vacation then this is a great unit. If you're looking for something a little pricer with better quality amenities the community offers those for rent too, but I'd still suggest emailing this owner first.
Best bets: N. Conway shopping at Setter's Green, biking the Notch, going up the Loon gondola, ice cream and Cascades Park in N. Woodstock, kids matinee at the Peppermill Theater, Govoni's restaurant with water view.
