GHOST WINERY FARM HOUSE

My stay at Ghost House Winery...was a magical dream come true. My daughter and I where so excited to have a fun, relaxing get away in the beauty of the heart of the Napa Valley. We where greeted by the comfy cosy beautifully decorated, well maintained and fully stocked home on property with amazing views. Quiet and relaxing but so much fun out on the patio with a glass of Fotsch Chardonnay ...yummy! So close to so many wineries to visit, Calistogo spa's and the must have.. retail therapy!!! I truely did not want to leave...I felt like I could live there forever.

Just what this very busy Lady and very pregnant Daughter needed, a little get away with some fun and relaxation. Ghost House Winery home is so welcoming, cozy comfy,beautifully furnished,well maintained and stocked with everything you need. I found my stay to be so special to be able to relax in the lovely home or out on the beautiful patio and yet be so close to Calistoga retail therapy and spa pampering. We enjoyed taking walks at the national park nearby. I didn't want to leave.

My family and I rented this house for a week in May 2009. We travelled over from the United Kingdom for a wedding in St Helena and needed a base which was close to the centre of St Helena, but far enough away to feel like we were still getting a relaxing break away. I have always been a bit apprehensive about booking places over the internet; however, with the Ghost Winery we were not disappointed.
It is a gorgeous house surrounded by hills that feels remote, yet, being located just off highway 21 it is literally a 10 minute drive to the centre of St Helena, and for us, all the wedding festivities. The outside of the property was very well maintained with a beautiful patio and lawn area with a table big enough to fit all of us round. Sitting outside in the early evening enjoying a few bottles of Napa wines and watching the sun set over the hills was idyllic, my 10 month old son even took his first steps out here.
. The inside of the property is decorated in a beautiful Tuscan style. The downstairs is an open plan kitchen dining room leading round to a magnificent open fire place and lounge. Even though there is only one room downstairs it still feels very large and spacious with the high ceilings and beautiful furniture. Upstairs there were 4 bedrooms, all well decorated and comfortable.
We didn’t actually have time to use the guest passes to the Meadowood estate, but some of the wedding festivities were held there and it is absolutely stunning. If we were to visit again we would make much more use of this resource. I would definitely rent this house again if we were coming to St Helena and recommend it to anyone. It is close to the action and activities St Helena has to offer but is secluded enough to offer privacy and relaxation. We had a trip of a lifetime, which was enhanced by the house we had to call home for the week.
